    摘要： A fixing device for fixing an image formed on a recording material includes a fixing member disposed on a recording material conveyance path, a heating part that heats the fixing member to fix the image formed on the recording material by heat, and a storage unit that is charged by an external power source to supply power to the heating part. The fixing device further includes a fixing temperature detecting unit that detects a temperature of the fixing member, and a control unit that controls the external power source to supply power to the heating part and to determine whether to start to supply power to the heating part from the storage unit based on the temperature of the fixing member, at the time of warming-up the fixing member by the heating part.

    摘要： A fixing apparatus includes a first heat generating member that generates heat upon receiving power from a commercial power source, an electrical condenser that stores charge when charged by the commercial power source, and a second heat generating member that generates heat upon receiving power from the electrical condenser. A fixing member is heated by the first and second heat generating members and fixes an image onto a recording medium. A control device is provided to restrict the power supplied from commercial power source to the first heat generating member when the temperature of the fixing member starts increasing. The electrical condenser starts supplying power to the second heat generating member before the control device terminates restriction of the power.

    摘要： A heating device heats, by electromagnetic induction heating, a heating member disposed in a fixing device for use in an image forming apparatus. The fixing device heats and fixes an image on a recording material while nipping and transporting the recording material. The heating device includes an exciting coil that is disposed along the heating member and generates an alternating magnetic flux to heat the heating member by electromagnetic induction heating, a demagnetizing coil that encircles part of the alternating magnetic flux generated by the exciting coil and generates an electro motive force in a direction that cancels the alternating magnetic flux, and a demagnetizing regulator that is provided in a demagnetizing circuit including the demagnetizing coil and adjusts a current to be generated in the demagnetizing coil.

    摘要： A fixing device for fixing an image formed on a recording material in an image forming apparatus includes a fixing member, a heating part that heats the fixing member to fix an image formed on the recording material by heat, a storage unit that is charged by an external power source to supply power to the heating part, and a control unit that controls the external power source to supply power to the heating part and determines whether to start to supply power to the heating part from the storage unit. The control unit controls the external power source to charge the storage unit during a period from when power supply from the storage unit to the heating part is completed at the time of warming-up the fixing member by the heating part until when the power supply from the storage unit to the heating part is started.

The controller performs an identical control to reduce number of copies of an image formed (fixed) per minute (CPM) to a predetermined number (40 CPM) in any of three cases in which the energy is less than a threshold for starting electric discharge when a plurality of recording mediums is continuously passed through the fixing member, in which a cardboard paper is continuously passed, and in which an amount of data of an image to be transferred on the recording medium is large.
