The controller is configured to lower a set temperature of the heater in response to a determination that (a) a determination condition is satisfied, the determination condition relating to a start of the conveyance of the printing medium to the fixing device by the conveyor and (b) the temperature detected by the temperature sensor is higher than a threshold temperature.

Abstract: An image forming system includes an image forming apparatus and a sheet laminator. The image forming apparatus forms an image on a sheet being conveyed as an inner sheet. The sheet laminator performs a sheet laminating operation on a two-ply sheet in which the sheet conveyed from the image forming apparatus is inserted between two sheets of the two-ply sheet. The sheet laminator includes a heater and circuitry. The heater heats the two-ply sheet during the sheet laminating operation. The circuitry is to execute a control mode when a specific abnormal event occurs among a plurality of abnormal events that occurs in the image forming apparatus, where the control mode maintains heating by the heater of the sheet laminator for a predetermined time and interrupt the heating by the heater when an abnormal event other than the specific abnormal event occurs.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, a fixing portion, and a control portion. The fixing portion forms a nip portion to nip a recording material and includes heat-generating elements along a direction orthogonal to a conveying direction of the recording material. The fixing portion fixes the image on the recording material using heat. Abstract: A fixing device includes an endless fixing rotator, a temperature detector, a pressure rotator, a nip formation pad, and a plurality of heaters. Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a housing having an opening, a cover configured to open the opening in an open state and to close the opening in a close state, a photosensitive drum, a heater, a fan configured to force air out of the housing, and a controller. The heater is configured to heat a sheet to fix a toner image on the sheet, and is located between the cover in the close state and the photosensitive drum. During execution of a printing process, the controller is configured to cause the fan to rotate at a first speed if the cover is in the closed state, and to rotate at a second speed lower than the first speed if the cover is in the open state.
