摘要： A binding apparatus which can meet user requests and adapt to usage conditions by a user. An adhesive is heated and melted, and then applied to a sheet bundle to bind the sheet bundle. One of the following modes is selected: a first adhesive temperature adjusting mode in which the adhesive is heated when power supply to the bookbinding apparatus is turned on, and a second adhesive temperature adjusting mode in which the adhesive is heated when binding of the sheet bundle is started.

A user sets on an image forming apparatus main unit 10 a thickness of sheet to be conveyed. A CPU circuit section 150 obtains first thickness-determination information used for the sheet conveying speed control in a finisher 500 from the finisher 500. A plurality of candidate sheet thicknesses that can be set, are determined based on the first thickness-determination information obtained by the CPU circuit section 150 and second thickness-determination information used when image-forming process speed control is performed in the image forming apparatus main unit 10 according to sheet thickness.

摘要： An image forming apparatus is operable with a first sheet processing device and a second sheet processing device connected to the image forming apparatus via a network. The image forming apparatus includes a memory configured to store a control program for the first and second sheet processing devices; and a controller configured to exercise control so that the control program stored in the memory is transmitted to the first sheet processing device or the second sheet processing device. When the first and second sheet processing devices are of the same type, the controller transmits the control program to either the first sheet processing device or the second sheet processing device, and after completion of the transmission, the controller causes the sheet processing device to which the control program has been transmitted to transmit the control program to the other sheet processing device.

摘要： A sheet processing apparatus which can be reduced in size and suppress cost increase by preventing sheet buckling and jamming. Sheets stacked on an insert tray of a sheet processing apparatus are fed on a conveying path in a first sheet feed mode in which sheets are fed after being inverted by an inversion path or a second sheet feed mode in which sheets are fed without passing through the inversion path. A pair of conveying rollers conveys the fed sheets and the sheets with images formed thereon. The conveyed sheets are stacked on a processing tray, and a stapler performs predetermined processing on the stacked sheets. It is determined whether predetermined information is included in sheet information about the sheets stacked on the insert tray, and if the predetermined information is included in the set sheet information, a predetermined message is displayed on a display panel.

摘要： A control method for an image forming system capable of preventing reduction of the ability of the system even if a shift transportation function becomes an abnormal condition. An image forming apparatus forms an image on a sheet. A first sheet process apparatus has a first moving unit receiving the sheet on which the image is formed and moving the sheet in a width direction. In a determination step, it is determined whether a second sheet process apparatus having a second moving unit moving the sheet in the width direction is connected to an upstream side of the first sheet process apparatus. In a detection step, it is detected an abnormal condition of the first moving unit. In a sheet movement step, the second moving unit moves the sheet in the width direction if an abnormal condition is detected and the second sheet process apparatus is connected.

摘要： An image forming apparatus which enables the user to easily remove a sheet bundle left in the apparatus after a bookbinding-mode job is stopped in the middle of execution thereof. In a bookbinding mode of the apparatus, in a sheet stacking section, a plurality of sheets having images formed thereon are stacked as a sheet bundle; in a gluing section, glue is applied to an end face of the sheet bundle; and in a bonding section, a cover sheet is bonded to the sheet bundle to wrap the sheet bundle in the cover sheet. When a bookbinding-mode job is canceled during execution thereof, in the gluing section, glue is applied to the sheet bundle stacked in the stacking section before the job is stopped, and a discharge section discharges the glue-applied sheet bundle which is neither wrapped nor trimmed.
