Abstract: Disclosed in the present specification is a wireless power reception device comprising: a power pickup unit for receiving wireless power from a wireless power transmission device by means of magnetic coupling with the wireless power transmission device and transforming, into a direct current signal, an alternating current signal generated by wireless power; a communication/control unit for receiving the direct current signal from the power pickup unit, transmitting, to the wireless power transmission device, a first power transmission suspension packet for temporarily suspending transmission of the wireless power in order to detect a foreign object, and performing a foreign object detection procedure within a predetermined time window when the transmission of the wireless power is temporarily suspended; and a load for receiving the direct current signal from the power pickup unit.

Abstract: A multi-coil based wireless power transmission device is disclosed that includes a primary coil array forming a magnetic coupling with a secondary coil provided in a wireless power reception device to transmit wireless power to the wireless power reception device; a plurality of inverters connected to a plurality of primary coils one-to-one to selectively drive each of the plurality of primary coils; a communication and control unit controlling the plurality of inverters and communication with the wireless power reception device such that at least one primary coil is driven based on the degree of magnetic coupling formed by each primary coil and the secondary coil, thereby determining output, which can be provided by the primary coil array, within a value obtained by summing all the maximum outputs individually set to the respective primary coils.

Abstract: The present specification discloses a method for receiving wireless power from a wireless power transmission device on the basis of foreign object detection, the method comprising the steps of: receiving a digital ping from the wireless power transmission device; transmitting identification and configuration packets to the wireless power transmission device; transmitting a foreign substance detection state packet indicating a reference Q factor value of a wireless power reception device to the wireless power transmission device; and receiving wireless power through magnetic coupling from the wireless power transmission device, on the basis of a result of foreign substance detection using the reference Q factor value by the wireless power transmission device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a wireless power transmission system and, more particularly, to an apparatus and a method for performing handover between heterogeneous communication methods. A wireless power transmission apparatus and reception apparatus can indicate whether to support out-band communication thereof on the basis of an out-band flag. The wireless power transmission apparatus can request the wireless power reception apparatus to start a handover by using a bit pattern requesting the handover. The handover procedure to out-band may be performed in a negotiation phase or may be performed in a separate handover phase. Information for establishing an out-band communication connection can be transmitted from the wireless power reception apparatus to the wireless power transmission apparatus through in-band communication. Also, even after the handover to the out-band is completed, it is possible to periodically or intermittently perform the in-band communication in a power transmission phase to detect a swap of the wireless power reception apparatus.

Abstract: A method for performing authentication of a target device in a wireless power transmission system, includes receiving, from the target device, a first packet including indication information related to whether or not the target device supports an authentication function; in case the target device supports the authentication function, transmitting an authentication request message to the target device; and receiving, from the target device, an authentication response message including a certificate related to wireless charging as a response to the authentication request message, wherein a format of the certificate includes a certificate type that informs whether the certificate is one of a plurality of certificates including a root certificate, an intermediate certificate and a final certificate for a wireless power transmitter (PTX).
