摘要： A low cost, on-line saddle stapler accessory for preparing long edge fed booklets, receives side registered copies from a copier, and introduces a crease centrally of the copies. The copies are aided into a roof-shaped compiler tray and registered at their lead edges. When a set has been compiled, a first saddle staple is made and the set is passed on to a second position, registered and stapled a second time. Afterwards, the now saddle stapled booklet is forwarded to a stacking tray.

It may be determined whether an error distance between the print target and a die cut target is less than a threshold. The print location may be automatically adjusted based on the error distance. 摘要： A stalled roll registration system and method includes a mechanism that allows for pivoting deskew action in a pre-registration nip in the form of a segmented pre-registration drive roll assembly mounted on a releasable low friction lateral translation carriage. Outer pre-registration idler nips are provided that open to allow a sheet to pivot and close for transport the sheet. The pre-registration idlers are engaged and the drive roll assembly remains locked in the lateral position for initial paper transport up to the stalled registration roll. After the sheet arrives at the stalled registration roll and starts to form a buckle for deskew, the outer pre-registration idlers and carriage are released. The body of the sheet is then free to pivot about the center drive nip and translate in the lateral direction to self align itself with the registration roll.

摘要： This invention provides a paper folding assembly where the thickness of the paper set stack is directly measured and will automatically determine the size of a gap located between two folder cylinders. A knife will push the set between the adjusted gap once it has been adjusted for the thickness of the set. The knife and driven nip rollers are positioned above this gap and are conveniently pushed into the gap to provide the set fold, for example, to make a booklet.

摘要： A finishing-compiling station or structure is disclosed where marked copies of paper or other media are transported into a compiling tray for paper registration by paddle wheels or other such deflection loaded compiler drive elements. These sheets of paper after registration are then processed and finished as desired. The pressure applied by the paddle wheels is substantially constant where as prior art pressures varied depending upon the height of the paper stack. A sensor and appropriate software controller gauges the speed of the paddle wheel drive shaft and controls the height of the drive shaft from the stack and thereby equalizes the resulting pressure to a continuous fixed pressure throughout this stacking operation.
