摘要: An electronic device is operable to determine a touch input applied to a capacitive touch panel system thereof so as to account for time-varying noise affecting the touch panel system. The electronic device includes the touch panel system, an analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) unit, and a processing unit. The processing unit is operable to: receive digital signal values from the ADC unit representing capacitances detected by sensing points of the touch panel system; adjust at least one of the digital signal values based at least on a time-varying noise to produce at least one noise-adjusted value; and determine the touch input based on the at least one noise-adjusted value. In one embodiment, the electronic device determines the time-varying noise prior to adjusting the digital signal values. In another embodiment, the time-varying noise is produced by a display panel of a touchscreen display that also includes the touch panel system.

摘要: A system and method of communications usage management for multiple networked devices such as cellular telephones in a telecommunications network. A management database is provided for storing communications attributes for at least one networked device. The stored communications usage attributes serve as criteria for regulating access of the networked devices to the system. The users of the devices may purchase a quantity of transferable units, such as usage minutes over the system network, with the units being redeemable for goods and/or services on the system, thus facilitating transfer of units between users. A user interface is provided as a system management device for accessing the management database to configure the communications usage attributes for defining the transfer and usage criteria. Communications usage software operable with the network devices computes usage times to provide an accounting of usage and regulation in accordance with the management database. In the described embodiment, short message service (SMS) traffic is used for messages between networked devices used by several users to purchase quantities of redeemable units for exchange, commercial activities, or recreation which may be facilitated through the system operator.

摘要: An amplifier system to increase the efficiency of amplification systems that employ linear modulation schemes. The amplifier system has a signal amplifier for receiving a constant amplitude input signal and producing an amplified version of the input signal. A variable impedance network presents various impedances to an output of the signal amplifier responsive to a load control signal. An envelope mapping circuit coupled to the variable impedance network produces the load control signal responsive to a desired amplitude modulation (AM) envelope. The various impedances causes the desired AM envelope to be impressed upon the amplified version of the input signal.

摘要: A transmitter (107) includes amplifying circuitry (203) and control circuitry (215, 217, 219) for biasing the amplifying circuitry (203) so that it operates closer to saturation with increased efficiency. The gate voltage signal (213), which provides a gate bias, is coupled to the amplifying circuitry (203) and is dynamically varied by the processor circuitry (219) in response to the value of the amplifier control voltage (211) coupled to the amplifying circuitry (203). The amplifier control voltage (211), which has a value for maintaining the output power of the amplifying circuitry (203) at a constant, is produced by the integrating circuitry (217) in response to a comparison of the detected power output signal (216) produced by the detecting circuitry (215) and the power output control signal (218) produced by the processor circuitry (219). Efficiency is realized by dynamically varying the gate voltage signal (213) to its largest magnitude so that the amplifying circuitry (203) may operate as close to saturation as possible while still maintaining a constant output power.
