    Abstract: A hole saw is movable about a rotational axis in a cutting direction to cut into a workpiece. The hole saw includes a cylindrical body with a sidewall having a first end and a second end opposite the first end, a gullet formed in the sidewall between a leading surface, a trailing surface, and a bottom surface of the sidewall, and a support aperture formed in the sidewall. The gullet extends through the first end of the body. The support aperture is entirely surrounded by the sidewall. A majority of the support aperture circumferentially overlaps with the gullet. At least a portion of the support aperture is positioned closer than the bottom surface of the sidewall to the second end. The hole saw includes a cutting tooth coupled to the first end of the sidewall adjacent the gullet and an end cap coupled to the second end of the sidewall.

    Abstract: An extension adapter includes a body having a bore. The bore is configured to receive a tool bit. The extension adapter includes a retaining member received within an aperture of the body and a biasing member coupled to the body. The biasing member includes a protrusion received within the aperture to bias the retaining member into a first position in which a portion of the retaining member extends into the bore. The extension adapter includes a collar moveable between an unlocked position and a locked position. The unlocked position is configured to allow the tool bit to be removed from the bore. While the collar is maintained in the locked position, the body is configured to slidably receive the tool bit such that the portion of the retaining member is received in a groove of the tool bit to secure the tool bit to the body.

    Abstract: A step drill bit includes a shank and a body that defines a plurality of axially stacked, progressively sized steps including a first step, a terminal step, and a plurality of intermediate steps having incrementally increasing diameters disposed between the first and terminal steps. The step drill bit includes a flute in the body extending from the distal end to the proximal end and a plurality of cutting edges formed in the body. Each cutting edge is disposed along one of the plurality of steps. Each cutting edge defines a helix angle and a radial rake angle. The helix angle of the cutting edge at a first intermediate step of the plurality of intermediate steps is greater than the helix angle at the first step.     Abstract: A hole saw includes a cylindrical body having a sidewall with a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The cylindrical body includes a gullet formed in the sidewall between a leading surface, a trailing surface, and a bottom surface of the sidewall. The gullet defines a central longitudinal axis extending between the first and second ends of the sidewall that is obliquely oriented relative to a rotational axis of the hole saw such that the gullet is angled from the first end to the bottom surface in a direction toward a cutting direction of the hole saw. The gullet has a dimension measured parallel to the rotational axis between the first end of the sidewall and the bottom surface of the gullet that is greater than 1.5 inches.     Abstract: A drill bit includes a shank extending along a bit axis and a body with a proximal end adjacent the shank and a distal end opposite the proximal end. The body defines a plurality of axially stacked, progressively sized steps including a first step at the distal end and a terminal step at the proximal end. The drill bit also includes a flute in the body. The flute defines an elongated groove that extends from the distal end to the proximal end. The drill bit further includes a plurality of cutting edges formed in the body. Each cutting edge is disposed along one of the plurality of steps and defines a helix angle and a rake angle. The helix angle of the cutting edge at the terminal step is greater than the helix angle of the cutting edge at the first step. A ratio of the helix angle to the rake angle of the cutting edge at the first step is in a range from 0.5 to 2.4, and a ratio of the helix angle to the rake angle of the cutting edge at the terminal step is in a range of 0.9 to 1.7.

    Abstract: A hand tool for driving a fastener is provided. The hand tool includes gearing that interconnects a splined socket to a rotatable or trigger actuator and increases a rotational speed of the splined socket relative to the actuator. The hand tool may include a power tool receiver or an independent motor to drive rotation of the splined socket to advance or retract a fastener from a threaded shaft. By increasing the speed and conserving rotational inertia, the hand tool reduces the time to secure a fastener on a threaded shaft. A rotatable nut is provided. The rotatable nut can slideably orient along a first axis and threadedly orient along a second axis to fasten to an adjacent surface.
