摘要: A novel image forming system which includes an image input apparatus, an image processing apparatus, and an image output apparatus. The image input apparatus has an input property profile, reads an image, and converts the image into image data using the input property profile. The image processing apparatus executes an image processing operation relative to the image data. The image output apparatus has an output property profile, outputs an image using the output property profile in accordance with the image data processed through the image processing operation. The above-mentioned image processing apparatus includes a property recognizer, a memory, and a property calculator. The property recognizer reads and recognizes the input property profile and the output property profile. The memory prestores a reference property profile. The property calculator calculates an optimal property based on the input property profile, the output property profile, and the reference property profile so that the image processing operation is optimally executed with the optimal property.

摘要: Flanges are pressed into opposite ends of a photoreceptor drum. A noncontact charging roller is arranged so as to face, but have no direct contact with, the photoreceptor drum. On both end portions of the noncontact charging roller, spacers are provided for maintaing a gap between the photoreceptor drum and the noncontact charging roller. The spacers are of tape form and wound around the noncontact charging roller. Winding positions of the spacers are distant by more than an effective projection length of each of the flanges from respective opposite ends of the charging roller.

摘要: The invention provides a developing apparatus, an image forming apparatus and a toner replenishing method that can restrain deterioration of toner and can stably form high quality image. Replenishing bias voltage is applied to a developing roller and a replenishing roller to charge conductive toner kept on a surface of the replenishing roller to a predetermined amount of charge. By electric field generated between the developing roller and the replenishing roller on the basis of the applied replenishing bias voltage, charged conductive toner is made fly and replenished from the replenishing roller to the developing roller. An appropriate amount of conductive toner is kept in a toner transporting body formed on a surface of the developing roller and is supplied to a photoconductor roller.

摘要: An interactive drawing tool aimed at young children, ages four and up, to explore colors, textures, and movements found in everyday materials by “picking up” and drawing with them. The tool looks and feels like a conventional hand-held paintbrush but has a small video camera with lights and touch and orientation sensors embedded inside. Outside of the drawing canvas, the brush can pick up color, texture, and movement of a brushed surface, either from objects or surfaces, or from an electronic palette that stores captured images and colors for repeated use and may be implemented by a tablet computer. On the canvas, children can draw with the special “ink” they just picked up from their immediate environment. The canvas comprises a display screen combined with a brush position sensor coupled to a personal computer which also receives image and control data from the brush.

摘要: As outermost coating-like layer(s) of charging roller(s) is or are made to contact and/or slide against photosensitive drum(s), charge is applied from the outermost coating-like layer(s) to the photosensitive drum(s), charging the photosensitive drum(s). This being the case, resistance of the outermost coating-like layer(s) of the charging roller(s) fluctuates, and surface(s) thereof become scratched and so forth, and gradually deteriorate. Moreover, if remedial action is not taken, charging capability of the charging roller(s) may decrease, leading to nonuniformity in charging of the photosensitive drum(s) and causing lowering of image quality and/or reduction in service life of the photosensitive drum(s). The outermost coating-like layer(s) of the charging roller(s) is or are therefore periodically stripped off therefrom to rejuvenate the charging roller surface(s).

摘要: The preferred embodiment of the invention distributes, and effectively caches, information by inserting it into file handles that the proxy sends to clients. This information can be used to improve performance by eliminating the need for the proxy to generate additional requests to the server to establish file identity. The distributed information can also be intended to improve security, for example, by allowing the proxy to encode into the file handle a session key that expires after some amount of time.

摘要: A structured multithreaded programming system is described for integrated use with existing and new programming languages and systems. The structured multithreaded programming system enables programs to be developed which include both multithreaded and multithreadable code constructs. The multithreaded code constructs require explicitly concurrent execution. The multithreadable code constructs can be executed either sequentially or concurrently, at the selection of the programmer or computer user. When executed concurrently, the different threads of execution in a multithreaded program developed with this system can be synchronized using innovative synchronization objects. One type of synchronization object is a special type of counter, which can be constrained to be monotonically increasing in value. Another related type of synchronization object is a special type of flag, which can be constrained to have its value set monotonically.
