Abstract: Methods and systems for training a neural network include generate an image of a mask. A copy of an image is generated from an original set of training data. The copy is altered to add the image of a mask to a face detected within the copy. An augmented set of training data is generated that includes the original set of training data and the altered copy. A neural network model is trained to recognize masked faces using the augmented set of training data.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for measuring gas concentration from a 2f signal in wavelength modulation spectroscopy is presented. The computer-implemented method includes emitting a beam of light from a laser to pass through a gas sample, calculating a gas measurement value from the gas sample via a trough distance calculator using a trough distance of a gas absorption line's 2f signal, calibrating the gas measurement value via a multi-point calibration process, and outputting the gas measurement value to a user interface of a computing device.

Abstract: The invention uses a point-to-multi-point (P2MP) discovery process conducted in a passive optical network PON system to identify each sensor that returns a probe pulse identified with a respective sensor without adding any equipment at the remote sensors. The sensors provide with the returned signal information indicative of measured gas leakage in the air in the sensor.
