摘要： A spool shaft is secured to the body of the fishing reel at the center thereof by press-fitting or the like, and projects from the body. The swing member is supported by the shaft so that the member is swingable. A spool is rotatably fitted on the shaft. A spring is strung between the long restriction arm of the swing member and a pin implanted in the body, and urges the member to put the arm in contact with an engagement and stop pin implanted in the body, to restrict the swinging of the swing member. An intermediate gear is rotatably fitted on a shaft secured to the other arm of the swing member, and is always engaged with a drive gear provided on the spool. A drag gear is provided near the intermediate gear so that the latter can be engaged with the former. A swing member can be prevented from moving at the time of fishline casting operation or the like so as to cause the intermediate gear to collide against the drag gear.

摘要： A fishing reel in which a spool is rotatably supported by a main body includes a frame, a right side cover and a left side cover. The fishing reel is characterized in that an auxiliary cover for protecting the finger and thumb of the user of the reel from a flat winding mechanism, or/and an auxiliary cover for improving the manipulating property of the reel are provided on both side covers between them. In addition, one end portion of each of the auxiliary covers, which is located where the spool is inserted into and pulled out of the frame, is removably engaged with one side plate of the frame, so that the auxiliary cover is prevented from coming off the side plate. Further, the other end portion of each of the auxiliary covers is engaged with the side cover located outside the other side plate of the frame.

摘要： A spool (3) is rotatably fitted to a support shaft (2) of a reel main body (1). The spool (3) is formed of aluminum in a cylindrical shape by die casting and includes a winding drum portion (3a), around which a fishing line (not show) is to be wound, and two flanges (3b and 3c) respectively provided on either side thereof. On the outside of the flange portion (3b) of the spool (3) disposed on the opening side of the reel main body (1), there is formed a notch portion (3d) to the outside of which a separate ring (4) is mounted and fixed by adhesives. The ring (4) is formed in a porous pan shape by machining an aluminum member. And, the ring (4) includes an inner peripheral surface (4a) which is to be placed on the outer periphery of the flange (3b) of the spool (3), and an outer peripheral surface (4b) which is formed so as to be substantially level with the outer periphery (1a) of the reel main body (1). Also, the ring (4) is exposed out to the outer periphery of the reel main body (1) disposed on the opening side thereof. The outer peripheral surface (4b) of the ring (4) is formed in a smooth surface by machining an aluminum member and it may be formed so as to have a shape ideal for an excellent thumbing operation and may be given color and luster.

摘要： An improvement in a level winder for fishing reels, which enables a fishing line guide member to be easily set on and removed from a guide cylinder, and the turning of the fishing line guide member with respect to the guide cylinder to be prevented, and which can attain the simplification of the construction of the level winder, an operation for assembling the level winder during the production thereof and an operation for disassembling the level winder during the replacement of a locking claw and the maintenance work the level winder, comprising a traverse cam shaft supported between the side plates of a fishing reel and turned with a handle shaft, a guide cylinder fitted around the cam shaft, and supported between and formed integrally with the side plates so as to have a non-circular cross-sectional shape, a fishing line guide member having a fishing line guiding bore at the upper portion thereof and an opening-carrying bifurcated part at the lower portion thereof, via which opening the fishing line guide member can be fitted around the guide cylinder so that the guide member can be moved slidingly and laterally, and a cap supporting a locking claw, which is engaged with the cam shaft, and engaged detachably with the bifurcated part.
