Abstract:
A smoking article is provided, including a plurality of elements including a front-plug and an aerosol-forming substrate. A hole or slit is defined through the front-plug, through which a heating element may be inserted. In use, a heating element is inserted into the smoking article through the hole or slit and the aerosol-forming substrate is heated to generate an aerosol. When the heating element is subsequently withdrawn from the smoking article, the front-plug acts to retain the aerosol-forming substrate within the smoking article.
Abstract:
An aerosol-generating article is provided, including an aerosol-forming substrate; a support element located immediately downstream of the aerosol-forming substrate; an aerosol-cooling element located downstream of the support element; and an outer wrapper circumscribing the aerosol-forming substrate, the support element and the aerosol-cooling element. The support element abuts the aerosol-forming substrate. The aerosol-forming substrate is penetrable by a heating element of an aerosol-generating device.
Abstract:
A heatable aerosol-generating article is provided, including an aerosol generating rod, the aerosol generating rod including a sheet for an aerosol-generating device, the sheet including: cellulosic material including cellulose powder, a weight ratio of cellulose powder to total cellulosic material in the sheet on a dry weight basis being greater than about 1:2; one or more nicotine salts; and at least one aerosol former, the sheet having an aerosol former content of at least 10% by weight on a dry weight basis, the sheet including no tobacco material, and a weight ratio of aerosol former to nicotine salt in the sheet on a dry weight basis being between 15:1 and 3:1.
Abstract:
A container containing a powder system including a first plurality of particles having a particle size of about 10 micrometers or less, and a second plurality of particles having a particle size of about 20 micrometers or greater, and a single aperture extending through the container. A system including an inhaler article and the container is disclosed also.
Abstract:
A sheet is provided, including a fibrous material, one or more nicotine salts, and sugar, at least about 20% by weight of the one or more nicotine salts being monoprotic.
Abstract:
A method of making a nicotine containing sheet is provided, including steps of combining a source of nicotine salt having a cellulose content of less than about 5% by weight on a dry weight basis with a separate source of fibrous material having a nicotine salt content of less than about 5% by weight on a dry weight basis to form a mixture; and drying the mixture to form a sheet.
Abstract:
An inhaler article includes a body extending along a longitudinal axis from a mouthpiece end to a distal end and a capsule cavity defined within the body. A mouthpiece air channel extends from the capsule cavity to the mouthpiece end. An end cap is disposed within the distal end and extends to the capsule cavity. The end cap extends from an end cap distal end to an end cap inner end. The end cap includes an air channel extending from the end cap distal end to the end cap inner end. The air channel is non-parallel with the longitudinal axis.
Abstract:
A nicotine powder inhaler (10) comprises a body extending between a mouthpiece portion (12) and a distal end portion (14), an airflow channel (15) extending between the mouthpiece portion and the distal end portion and a nicotine powder receptacle (20) disposed along the airflow channel, and a powder system disposed within the nicotine powder receptacle. The powder system includes a first plurality of particles having a particle size of about (10) micrometres or less and including nicotine and a second plurality of particles having a particle size of about 20 micrometres of greater and including flavour. The first plurality of particles comprise an amino acid or nicotine selected from the group consisting of nicotine pyruvate, nicotine mono-pyruvate, nicotine aspartate and nicotine lactate.
Abstract:
A nicotine particle delivery consumable article includes a receptacle having a body extending from a receptacle first end to an opposing receptacle second end and defining a cavity. A capsule is disposed within the cavity. The capsule contains particles including nicotine. The receptacle includes a membrane sealing the receptacle first end and an air outlet extending through the receptacle second end and into the cavity. An air inlet, close to the receptacle first end, extends through a side wall of the body and into the cavity.
Abstract:
An inhaler system suitable for providing nicotine particles includes a mouthpiece portion removably coupled to a distal end portion. The mouthpiece portion includes a capsule cavity and a mouthpiece air channel extending from the mouthpiece end to the capsule cavity. The distal end portion includes a piercing element coupled to the distal end portion and a resealable membrane configured to seal the capsule cavity when the mouthpiece portion is coupled to the distal end portion. The resealable membrane is configured to reseal when the piercing element moves out of the resealable membrane.
