摘要:
A monitor, for use with an absorbent article having a wetness sensor, includes a power management system. The monitor may include a hinge, a housing, and a power management system. The power management system may include an integrally activated and deactivated power circuit. The power circuit includes a first contact associated with the hinge and a second contact associated with the housing. The first contact is electrically connected with the second contact when the monitor is in a closed condition. The first contact is electrically disconnected with the second contact when the monitor is in an open condition. A monitor having a power management system may further include an attachment circuit and/or a continuity circuit.

An absorbent article has a liquid impermeable outercover, a liquid permeable bodyside liner, and an absorbent assembly. The absorbent assembly has a front portion, a rear portion, and a central portion extending longitudinally between and interconnecting the front portion and rear portion. The central portion has an opening therein to define a gap between the front portion and the rear portion. The absorbent assembly front portion is disposed intermediate the outercover and the liner in a front region of the article. The absorbent assembly rear portion is disposed intermediate the outercover and the liner in a rear region of the article. A temperature change member containing a temperature change substance is disposed in the opening of the central portion of the assembly.

A method of detecting the presence of an insult within an absorbent article is disclosed. An electrical property is monitored and the electrical property is compared to a wet/dry threshold value to determine either a wet characteristic or a dry characteristic of the article. If a dry characteristic, then a first and possibly a second test are applied. If a wet characteristic, then the second test is applied. The electrical property is compared to a first threshold value and a second threshold value is set based upon the function of the comparison. A change in the electrical property of the article is monitored to determine if the electrical property has stabilized after activation of an insult alarm.

Disclosed is an absorbent article including a temperature change member. In addition to the temperature change member, the article can include an outercover, and an absorbent body disposed on the outercover. The temperature change member includes temperature change material that is disposed in a temperature change composite in a nonuniform distribution.

An absorbent article including a temperature change member is disclosed. The absorbent article may define a front region, a rear region, a crotch region intermediate the front and rear regions. The article may include an outercover, an absorbent assembly front portion disposed intermediate the outercover and the liner in the front region. The article may also include an absorbent assembly rear portion disposed intermediate the outercover and the liner in the rear region and at least partially spaced from the absorbent assembly front portion to provide a first gap. The article further includes a temperature change member disposed in the first gap.

A reference phantom includes CT-imageable detail together with light-reflective spheres. This item can be placed on a patient table in a known location, following which the diagnostic source can be activated to detect the phantom position relative to the isocentre and camera employed to detect the PSS position. A synthetic image of the phantom can be used for comparison with the CT dataset. This allows improved correlation of the source and the patient support, enable further steps to be taken in enhancing the clinical effectiveness of the apparatus. In-use variations of the isocentre location can be corrected in real time by adjustment of the patient support. Thus, as the isocentre moves, the patient can be moved so as to track the moving isocentre. The linac arm could also be designed differently, as the existing design constraint (that isocentre movement must be limited as far as possible) could potentially be relaxed in order to achieve other aims.

An absorbent article may include one or more circuits formed on the exterior of the article that are configured to connect to a monitoring device. When connected to a monitoring device, the circuit(s) can be used to provide input data to the monitoring device. The monitoring device may provide audio, visual, and other feedback that changes based on user input data. In some embodiments, the monitoring device can further connect to one or more circuits internal to the article to sense changes in the state of the article. For example, interactive features supported by the monitoring device may relate to the wetness state of the article and/or may be used to control the type of indication(s) provided by the monitoring device when wetness (or another state) is detected. In some embodiments, the monitoring device can be used to provide interactive games for the user of the article. In some embodiments, the monitoring device can be configured to provide feedback triggered by a caregiver, such as potty training reinforcement messages.

A collection insert for use in a diaper for the testing of the urine of a baby is generally disclosed. The collection insert is configured to collect and temporarily retain the urine, allowing the urine to be later tested for the presence of absence of an analyte. The collection insert is fluidly isolated from the absorbent core of the diaper, and can be positioned between the bodyside liner and the outer cover or located in a pocket defined by the bodyside liner. The collection insert can include an insert cover and a collection core, such as a sponge, cellulosic material, polymeric nonwoven material, and the like. Additionally, the collection insert can be substantially free of superabsorbent material.
