    摘要: There is disclosed a disposable diaper in which the waistband is closed by a mechanical fastener. A second fastener means is included and positioned on the article to enable rolling or folding the garment after use and thereby secure it in a neat bundle for disposal. In the disclosed embodiments, the mechanical fastener is comprised of hook tabs at the rear waistband which engage a patch of loop material adhesively bonded on the front waistband. The second fastener means of the disclosed embodiments utilizes the tabs which engage a compatible component on the garment placed in the same half portion with the tabs. The disclosed species of the second (disposability) fastener means include: (1) tabs comprised of a hook component on one surface and loop component on the opposite surface thereof; or (2) tabs comprised of a hook component and a loop component on the outer surface in the same (rear) half of the garment; or (3) tabs comprised of a hook component and a loop component on the outer surface at the rear half of the cover in the region of the ears which is comprised of either the loop material mounted on the garment outer surface or is a non-woven material portion configured to function with the hook component and perform the secondary fastening function; or (4) tabs comprised of a hook component area and a pressure-sensitive adhesive area, the latter adhesively fastening the tabs to the rear half of the outer polymer cover sheet of the garment; or (5) tabs comprised of a hook component and transverse interlocking slots in the tabs, which link the ends of the rear waistband around the rolled garment to secure it for disposal.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for heating selected portions of an article include transport means for moving the article into a heating compartment. Shroud means, which are disposed within the heating compartment and located adjacent to limited portion of the article, direct a stream of heated gas toward a marginal portion of this article. Supply means deliver a volume rate flow of heated gas to the shroud means, and discharge means remove a volume rate of exhaust gas flow from the heating compartment. The discharge means is constructed and arranged to provide a volume rate of exhaust gas flow from the heating compartment which is greater than the volume rate of heated gas flow supplied into the shroud means.

    摘要: Packaged garments having prefastened, refastenable seams oriented in a certain position can preserve fastener performance. Such refastenable seams are particularly suitable for side seams on pant-like disposable garments. Prior to or during packaging of the garment, the refastenable seams are prefastened and positioned such that any fastening components lie flat in a plane perpendicular to a plane in which front and back panels of the garment lie. When the garment is compressed and packaged, the fastening components remain flat and do not become creased or crushed.

    摘要: Methods and systems consistent with the invention provide a robot network that can optimally reconfigure the control logic on-board each robot of the network on a real-time basis. Each robot of the network performs an assigned task according to a control logic. While performing the assigned task, each robot transmits performance data defining a fitness level of the robot for achieving the assigned task. A set of the plurality of robots is then selected based on the performance data transmitted by each robot, and the control logic of the selected set of robots is then sent to the other robots in the network. The robots that receive the control logic then optimize their control logic by producing a new control logic based on the received control logic.
