Abstract: A liquid holding container is adapted to supply liquid to a liquid introduction portion of a liquid consuming device. The liquid holding container includes a container and a first porous member. The container includes a liquid holding portion for holding the liquid, and a discharge port in communication with the liquid holding portion for discharging the liquid to the liquid introduction portion. The first porous member is provided on the discharge port for contacting the liquid introduction portion. The first porous member has a projecting part projecting in a direction from the liquid holding portion toward the discharge port.
