Abstract: A recording apparatus includes a medium mounting section, a feed mechanism, a recording section, a housing, and a reading unit. The reading unit is provided on top of the housing and includes a document feed opening, a transport section, and a reading section. A back cover moves in tandem with a mounting tray, and moves to a closed position in which the back cover covers the opening when the mounting tray is closed and an open position in which the back cover does not prevent the mounting tray from rotating for stowage in the opening when the mounting tray is open. When in the closed position, the mounting tray covers the document feed opening of the reading unit.
