Abstract: A recording medium feeding device includes a tray in which accommodates a recording medium, which is attachable to and detachable from a device main body including a feeding unit; a stopper that is able to switch between a regulating state in which the stopper comes into contact with a leading edge of the recording medium which is accommodated in the tray to regulate a movement of the recording medium, and a regulating release state that enables the recording medium to be fed to a feeding path; and a switching unit that is engaged with the tray to switch the stopper from the regulating state to the regulating release state, wherein the switching unit includes engaging portions that engages with the tray, and wherein the engaging portions are disposed, being separated from the stopper at the both sides of the stopper in a width direction of the recording medium.

Abstract: A recording apparatus includes a drive source, a medium receiving tray, a clutch, and a load applying unit. The medium receiving tray is configured to be driven by the drive source that is a motor having a cogging torque. The clutch is configured to idle when a predetermined amount of torque or more is applied, and provided to a power transmission pathway between the drive source and the medium receiving tray. The load applying unit is configured to apply a rotational load to a rotational body in the power transmission pathway closer to a side of the drive source than the clutch. The rotational load applied to the rotational body is set to a magnitude causing the clutch to idle before a rotational shaft of the motor rotates against the cogging torque when the medium receiving tray is operated by applying an external force to the medium receiving tray.

Abstract: A recording apparatus includes a return member switchable between a first orientation in which a portion of the return member overlaps a feed roller in a side view of a medium feeding path and a second orientation in which the return member is turned toward a downstream side in a medium feeding direction and does not overlap the feed roller. The return member changes an orientation thereof from the second orientation to the first orientation, thereby returning a medium to an upstream side in the medium feeding direction. When a transport roller disposed downstream of the feed roller is driven in reverse to return the medium to the upstream side and position the medium at a recording start position, the return member takes a third orientation in which the return member is raised toward the upstream side further than in the first orientation.
