The flexible radiation detector includes a flexible substrate, and a plurality of solid block bodies mounted in a two-dimensional array on the flexible radiation detector. The radiation detecting apparatus is capable of avoiding excessive deformations in the radiation detector, and prevents image distortions of the radiation image information. The radiation detecting apparatus also prevents disconnections in the radiation detector. There is also provided a radiation image capturing system incorporating such a radiation detecting apparatus.
