摘要： A cap assembly for an automatic cap feeder and fastener driver comprises a plurality of relatively thin, domed metal discs that can be pierced by fasteners discharged from a fastener driver such as a nail gun without bending the nail or jamming the driver, with the caps being connected together by a paper backed adhesive tape mounted on the undersides of the concave caps, with the caps having outer edges that are sufficiently sharp that they sever the tape from the strip of caps when the caps are driven into a substrate after a fastener has penetrated the caps. The fastener driver includes improved feeder teeth and an anti-backup pawl that extend into recesses in the track. A cover encloses an open edge of a cap storage basket.

Upon depression of the safety probe, a tag is rotated from its storage position within the tag magazine into position in front of the nail gun. According to one embodiment a scanning device is connected to the tag apparatus for obtaining data from tags after they are attached to an object.

摘要： A staple or nail gun assembly includes a staple or nail gun, a cap feeding device and a cap having a peripheral rim disposed on its underside, a marginal edge on its upper side adjacent a central portion having the shape of a truncated cone. The staple or mail gun and the cap feeding device are generally disposed at opposite ends of the handle of the staple or nail gun. The cap feeding device includes a base, a cap container and a shuttle. The base has a cap feeding chamber and-a cap holding chamber and a channel connecting the two chambers. The container is used to store staple or nail caps and to feed the caps to the cap feeding chamber of the base, one cap at a time. The shuttle is operatively associated with the channel of the base to move a cap at the cap feeding chamber towards the cap holding chamber through the channel by a distance equal to the diameter of the cap. The caps are coaxially stacked by means of a coaxial plastic cord or wire with retaining means at the respective ends or in a tubular container with a flanged end.

摘要： An automatic washer feeder for an automatic nail gun comprises a washer storage container that stores a coil of washers interconnected together edge-to-edge and a feeding mechanism that uncoils the washers and feeds them one at a time into a position wherein the washers are in alignment with nails being driven by the nail gun. The feeding mechanism is synchronized with the nail gun driver such that one washer is placed in line with each nail before it is driven. The washers are attached together edge-to-edge by a breakable linkage which is broken or cut when a washer is driven into contact with a substrate surface being nailed by the action of the nail gun. The linkage can be an adhesive tape that breaks when the tape is pierced by a nail and the washer is driven into a substrate. Alternatively, the linkage can be formed by integrally molding the washers with an interconnecting link or by string collation.

摘要： Automatic feeding apparatus for feeding a coil of felt tabs connected in head to tail relation to a nailing or stapling gun. The feeder places one tab beneath the gun in the path of the next nail or staple to be driven by the gun such that operating the gun causes a felt tab to be installed simultaneously with the driven nail or staple. The feeding apparatus includes a clip for storing a coil of tabs, a tractor drive for advancing the coil one tab at a time when the gun is operated, and a motor for operating the tractor drive. The clip has a removable cover and an axle about which the coil of tabs rotates as it is paid out. The tractor drive has an endless belt from which fingers project to engage the tabs. Power is the same as that employed by the gun. The feeding apparatus may be integral with the gun or may have structure enabling ready attachment to the gun.
