Abstract:
A laundry hamper assembly. A hamper, having a bottom floor and a top portion, features a container disposed in its top portion. The container and the bottom floor define a cavity for storing articles of clothing. The container in the hamper is configured to hold laundry supplies. Ventilation grills are defined in the hamper between the container and the bottom floor, allowing air to flow from the cavity to the outside of the hamper. Other elements improve the mobility of the hamper assembly, and secure the contents of both the hamper and its containers.
Abstract:
A self-levelling platform arrangement comprises a platform which may form the base of a trolley container, supported on a biasing mechanism that comprises a scissors jack arrangement incorporating a tension spring to provide the biasing force whereby the platform descends as items are loaded onto the platform and rises as items are unloaded. The load/tension ratio of the spring is adjustable. To achieve tensioning of the spring, one end of the spring is attached to one of the opposite arms of the scissors arrangement through a flange plate while the outer end is attached to one end of a balance beam member supported for rotation about a fulcrum, the position of the fulcrum being variable along the length of the beam. The other end of the beam member connects, via a further flange plate, to the other of opposite arms by a connecting rod.
Abstract:
A new Foldable Laundry Cart for offering a convenient means for storing, transporting, and folding laundry. The inventive device includes a frame assembly having an opening therein, a basket fitted within the opening of the frame assembly, and first and second leg assemblies pivotally attached to opposite ends of the frame assembly, wherein the leg assemblies are foldable toward each other to a horizontal position adjacent the underside of the frame assembly whereby the cart can be easily stored when not in use. A tray assembly is swivelly attached to the frame assembly above the opening and a handle assembly extends from each end of the frame assembly wherein the handle assembly is adapted for use as a handle and a clothes hanging device.
Abstract:
A utility cart includes an open upper bin or container, with an open lower storage shelf disposed immediately below the upper bin. The lower shelf floor also serves as a support for the cart when it is placed in a generally vertical rest position. Wheels are provided at the rearward portion of the cart, allowing the cart to be moved on the wheels with essentially the entire weight of the cart being supported by the wheels while in transport, thus precluding any substantial requirement for the user to lift any significant portion of the weight of the cart and/or its contents. The cart may be molded or cast of plastic material as a single, unitary component with the exception of the wheels. The cart is particularly adapted for laundry use, with the upper basket being used to contain clothing and the lower storage shelf being used to contain laundry supplies. However, the cart is also readily adaptable for use in performing other chores and tasks as well.
Abstract:
A cover for a laundry bag supported between pivotally interconnected leg members of inverted U-shape. The cover comprises a hood having slots near the ends of its opposing side walls, for fitting over pivot members extending between the two leg members and pivoting thereon from an open position in which the mouth of the bag is exposed to a closed position in which it is completely covered. The cover may be hand operated or spring closed and foot opened.
Abstract:
A folding shopping cart, laundry cart or the like in which a generally box-shaped fabric sack serves as an essential structural integer for holding two rigid generally horizontal upper side members of the cart in parallel relationship a given distance apart against forces developed upon unfolding the cart which would otherwise spread the upper side members further apart. The back and the bottom of the cart have respective cross frames of centrally pivoted rigid members, while the front of the cart has a parallel spaced pair of rigid vertical side members. The cart is locked into its unfolded condition by a knuckle-jointed cross brace between the lower ends of back cross frame. The rigid members of the cart are so interconnected that the cart folds into a stick-like bundle which includes wheels provided at the four corners of the bottom cross frame and a pair of rigid handle members articulated to the rear ends of the upper side members.
Abstract:
A laundry hamper adapted to fit under furniture and contain articles of clothing is disclosed. The laundry hamper includes a receptacle having an interior volume with an opening. The laundry hamper includes a rim positioned along the opening of the receptacle. The laundry hamper includes a plate that is not incorporated with the laundry hamper. The laundry hamper includes a flexible connecting member connecting the plate via a handle at one end and connecting the rim at other end. The receptacle positions under the furniture and the plate on or within the furniture. The receptacle receives articles of clothing through the opening. The handle detaches from the plate and allows a user pull out the receptacle from under the furniture with the help of the flexible connecting member.
Abstract:
