摘要: In a water heating system, vapor in the products of combustion gases is condensed in a secondary heat exchanger positioned in a housing with the primary heat exchanger and combustion chamber. The two heat exchangers are coaxial coils with the secondary coil positioned below the primary. Gases flow radially through the primary coil and then axially through the secondary coil at an increased velocity. The gases are then used to pre-heat a gas/air mixture in a third heat exchanger within the secondary heat exchanger. The pre-heated gas/air mixture is burned in a burner within the primary heat exchanger and the gas products are drawn through the exchangers by a blower. A water storage tank is designed to enhance stratification of hot water over cooler water. The cooler water is used to condense vapor in the secondary heat exchanger.

摘要: This invention relates to a multi-pass helical coil thermal fluid heater of improved thermal efficiency. The thermal fluid is heated while being circulated within concentric helical coils of the heater which are arranged in such a manner to improve overall thermal efficiency and simplify construction. Provision is also made for preheating of the thermal fluid and the heater combustion air to further improve thermal efficiency.

摘要: A helical coil of tubing is disposed in a cylindrical tank in spaced relation thereto so as to act as a baffle for the products of combustion introduced thereinto by creating a tortuous passageway in said tank. The helical coil has its end portions arranged in spaced parallel sections defining supporting skids extending longitudinally of the helical coil and thereby supporting the same in said tank. The tank is positioned in a secondary larger cylindrical tank and the fluid to be heated, such as oil, is circulated through the helical coil, the skid-like communicating portions thereof forming the supports and in the area between the tanks to obtain a highly efficient heat transfer.

摘要: A generally cylindrical housing containing a burner underlying a fluid conduit formed to provide a plurality of interconnected concentric helical coils, the outermost coil having a lower end portion projection below the lower ends of the inner coils. A reticulate baffle, in underlying engagement with the lower end of an inner coil, cooperates with the lower end portion of the outermost coil to define a combustion chamber, the baffle permitting flow of gases of combustion upwardly therethrough but retaining most of the burner flame within the combustion chamber. The fluid conduit and its mounting structure are arranged for easy removal from the housing and replacement therein.
