摘要: A method for determining a contour of an organ in an ultrasound image is performed by a processor in a base unit. The method includes detecting an organ within the ultrasound image; obtaining a centroid position for the organ; extending a set of radial lines from the centroid position beyond an expected organ boundary; determining cost values at candidate nodes on each radial line, of the set of radial lines, by applying costs along gradient vectors that are normal to a contour between adjacent nodes on different radial lines; and selecting a final organ boundary contour based on a cost function analysis of paths through the candidate nodes.

摘要: A method for producing a histogram of oriented gradients (HOG) for at least a portion of an image comprises dividing said image portion into cells, each cell comprising a plurality of image pixels. For each image pixel of a cell, a horizontal gradient component, gx, and a vertical gradient component, gy, is obtained based on differences in pixel values along at least a row of said image and a column of said image respectively including the pixel. A gradient is allocated to one of a plurality of sectors, each sector extending through a range of orientation angles. At least some of said sectors are divided from adjacent sectors along lines including gx=2n·gy, where n is any integer value with a magnitude greater than or equal to 1. At least one sector is associated with a bin; and a count of each instance of a pixel gradient of a cell associated with a bin is performed to provide a HOG for said cell.

摘要: The current document is directed to automated methods and systems, controlled by various constraints and parameters, that identify contours in digital images, including curved contours. Certain of these parameters constrain contour identification to those contours in which the local curvature of a contour does not exceed a threshold local curvature and to those contours orthogonal to intensity gradients of at least threshold magnitudes. The currently described methods and systems identify seed points within a digital image, extend line segments from the seed points as an initial contour coincident with the seed point, and then iteratively extend the initial contour by adding line segments to one or both ends of the contour. The identified contours are selectively combined and filtered in order to identify a set of relevant contours for use in subsequent image-processing tasks.

摘要: Disclosed is a system and method for detecting a human in an image, and a corresponding activity. The image is captured, wherein the image comprises a plurality of pixels having gray scale information and a depth information. The image is segmented into a plurality of segments based upon the depth information. A connected component analysis is performed on a segment in order to segregate the one or more objects into noisy objects and candidate objects, the noisy objects are eliminated from the segment. A plurality of features are extracted from the candidate objects, and are evaluated using a Hidden Markov Model (HMM) model in order to determine the candidate objects as one of the human or non-human. The corresponding activity associated with the human is detected based on a depth value associated with each pixel corresponding to the candidate object in the image.

摘要: Systems and methods for identifying contours of objects depicted in imagery are provided. A contour of an occluded object can be reconstructed based on a source contour extracted from an image and/or other geographic data. The source contour can be analyzed to identify a main contour direction for one or more points on the source contour. A plurality of rays can be extended from each of the one or more points based on the main contour direction associated with the point. A graph model can be constructed from the plurality of rays extended from the plurality of points. A path can be determined through the graph model and the contour can be constructed based at least in part on the determined path.

摘要: A method for identifying objects in a digital image includes tracing chain codes associated with the contour of the object; a series of states is maintained, and the next chain codes in the contour are accepted only if they comply with allowed chain codes for each state. Certain chain codes trigger a transition into a next state. If a disallowed chain code is encountered, the process halts.
