Abstract:
The invention relates to a harvester for lowbush berries such as wild blueberries. A truss section is mounted to the three-point hitch of a tractor adapted to run in reverse, the truss section pulling a pair of laterally and longitudinally offset picking heads contained within the periphery of the truss section. The picking heads are floatingly connected to the truss section so that they are free to follow the contours of the ground. Each picking head mounts a rotating, tine-carrying reel therein and is connected to one end of a counterbalance system, the other end of the system being carried by the tractor. The counterbalance system includes counterweights that can be raised or lowered between upper and lower limits at the will of the operator so as to offset the weight of the picking head, so that as little as 25% thereof is acting on the ground. This means that there will be little damage to the picking head if it encounters obstacles such as rocks or tree stumps during harvesting. The counterbalance system can also be used to raise the entire head clear of the ground to pass over obstacles or to permit travel of the harvester to or from the fields to be harvested.

An hydraulic elevating mechanism for lifting and lowering an engineering structure which is sluingly supported around a rotational axis on a base unit, has two or more hydraulic lift cylinders pivoted to the base unit at one end and to the engineering structure to be slued at the other. The lift cylinders are controlled by hydraulic control circuits separated from each other and such that at least one of the lift cylinders is connected to a pressure reservoir.
Abstract:
An agricultural rake especially designed for gathering wide swaths of agricultural field crops into windrows prior to baling is provided. The rake includes a primary frame, a pair of secondary rake frames pivotally and shiftably mounted to the primary frame, and a plurality or bank of radially-tined wheel rakes supported by the secondary frames. Both the angle of deployment of the secondary frames as well as the distance between the frames is adjustable to accommodate different swath widths and windrow sizes. A unique rake suspension assembly provides for the easy shifting of the rake bases between the raking and transport positions while providing for desired damping of the rakes during raking operations.
Abstract:
A mower is propelled along the ground by a tractor and the mower includes three cutting units mounted on a frame. The three cutting units are transversely mounted on the frame to cut in overlapping parallel patterns with each cutting unit being free floating on the frame such that each unit cuts at an elevation controlled by the ground immediately under the cutting unit.

This invention relates to a haymaking machine which includes a frame having a central section and three lateral sections which are connected to one another and which carry rotors rotatably driven during working operation. The lateral sections can be folded for transport by hydraulic cylinders. On each side of central section there are located the three lateral sections, each of which includes a pipe and a housing equipped with a rotor. A hydraulic cylinder extends directly from the central section to each third lateral section and in the transporting position, the first and second lateral sections are directed upward and the third lateral sections are directed downward.

A mower includes a frame having a connecting mechanism for connecting the frame to a motor vehicle. The mower also includes at least one harvesting mechanism which comprises cutting elements and is connected to the frame through a suspension device. The suspension device permits the displacement in height of the harvesting mechanism relative to the frame. The mower further includes a lightening device operatively connected to the harvesting mechanism and comprising at least one spring connected directly to the harvesting mechanism. The lightening device makes it possible to reduce the pressure with which the harvesting mechanism rests on the ground by transferring a part of the weight of the harvesting mechanism to the frame.

A lawn mower comprises a riding and a steering frame pivotally connected to an engine and cutter assembly which includes an engine and transmission mounted on an engine deck and cutter blades driven by the engine and mounted below the cutter deck. The steering frame is pivotally attached to the engine deck and supports a rider seat and a steering assembly. A shock absorber extends between the pivotally connected engine and riding and steering frame.

This blueberry harvesting machine is a side-by-side attachment to the standard farm tractor, secured to the tractor by the usual 3-point hitch. An outer wheel on the attachment supports much of the weight of the machine. A simplified beating mechanism knocks the berries loose from the bushes to fall on a collection system that extends ahead of the beaters and the frontal portion of the machine to receive berries knocked loose by the approach of the machine.

The mowing machine, of the seated operator type, comprises a supporting frame which supports, at its central portion, a casing including a grass cutting assembly, and a seat for the operator.The main feature of the machine is that it further comprises, associated with the supporting frame, a front steering column supporting a driven front roller for displacing the machine, there being moreover provided a rear bearing roller and two further rear rollers to allow for the cutting assembly to track the unevenness of the ground, the two further rear rollers being suitable to stabilize the machine and improve its performance on not perfectly flat soils.
Abstract:
Lift structure particularly useful with front mounted implements for providing both lift and weight transfer functions from a single valve. The valve acts as an adjustable bleeder for the lift cylinder and includes a control knob which is movable both axially and rotationally to respectively provide lift and adjustable flotation. The valve is normally biased to an adjustable orifice position for operating the implement in a lowered, flotation position. To momentarily lift the implement, the operator moves the control knob against the bias to direct flow to the lift cylinder thereby raising the implement off the ground. When the operator releases the valve, it automatically returns to the preset orifice position to provide the desired flotation.
