    摘要: A mobile picking platform system includes a mobile picking platform having a mobile carriage with a superstructure supporting multiple adjustable picking stations. A storage box carrier on the mobile picking platform has a pick position with storage boxes held at optimum heights for access by pickers on the picking stations, an unload position in which full storage boxes are unloaded onto a ground surface, and a load position for receiving empty storage boxes.A storage unit carries empty storage boxes and facilitates transfer of storage boxes to the mobile picking platform. A shuttle trailer may also be included in the system to transfer empty storage boxes to the mobile picking platform and storage unit. The shuttle trailer has a down position in which full storage boxes may be picked up from a ground surface, and an up position for transferring storage boxes to the storage unit or mobile picking platform.

    摘要: The harvester provides a self-propelled or towed base (2) on which a telescoping tower (3) is mounted on a gimbal (7), allowing angular flexibility of the tower relative to the base. The tower resists swaying movement by the stabilizing effects of hydraulic cylinders (34) that are connected to electrically-operated hydraulic control valves, e.g. servo valves, controlled by a programmable logic controller or the like, which receives input from two inclinometers (5). An extendable multi-jointed boom (8) is mounted at or near the upper end of the tower. Mounted at the distal end of the boom is a cut fruit holding basket (11) and a funnel (12) with a chute (13), mounted to a common platform (4) that pivots to provide access to all sides of a tree. Collected fruit may be discharged periodically into a collection bin, for example when the platform is at least partially lowered to move the base and tower from location to location.

    摘要: An apparatus is disclosed for harvesting seed which includes a frame and a housing defining a seed box and having a rotary brush mounted on a forward portion thereof which is connected to link bars which are in turn connected to the frame. Corresponding pairs of link bars are attached between the frame and housing on opposite sides of the apparatus, the link bars on each side being substantially parallel to each other. Means are provided for varying the angle of the link bars to the frame, the link bars operationally functioning as a parallelogram to raise or lower the housing at a constant angle relative to the frame. A draw bar is pivotably connected to the front of the frame and tilt angle adjustment means are provided to vary the angle between the frame and the draw bar thereby providing an independent means for varying the angle of attack of the rotary brush to the plants from which seed is being collected.

    摘要: Method and apparatus for keeping a machine member of an agricultural machine at a substantially constant height above a field during its movement through the field. A wheel-supported main frame supports, for vertical movement, an auxiliary frame carrying the machine member and also carrying an ultrasonic transducer spaced at a constant distance away from the machine member. The machine member is set at an initial position relative to the surface of said field. Thereafter the position of said machine member relative to said main frame is determined, and an electrical signal corresponding thereto generated. The height of said transducer above the field is determined ultrasonically and an electrical signal corresponding thereto generated. From these electrical signals the amount and direction of divergence of the actual position of the machine member relative to the field surface from its initial set position is determined, and an electrical correction signal corresponding thereto is produced, causing movement of the auxiliary frame relative to the main frame.

    摘要: A boom structure including a plurality of crossed links having their centers and ends pivotally connected to define a lazy tong structure includes a compression spring positioned to exert a force between the next to last and last links making up the lazy tong structure when the structure is in collapsed position to aid extension of the structure. The spring has one end secured close to the central point of the next to last link and its other end is free. The opposing last link portion includes a guiding cone for receiving the free end of the compression spring when the structure is collapsed. When the lazy tong structure is extended, the compression spring effects initial extension of the next to last and last links while the initial crossed links at the base of the boom are separated by the driving force for extending the structure. A smooth unfolding of the respective links can thus be realized.

A stationary shield partially surrounds the rotatable support member and is effective to orient the tree branches and also periodically depress the fruit-grasping members and subsequently release them, such that they spring outwardly into the tree branches to grasp the fruits in their paths.
