    摘要: A C-shaped frame is movable in a direction in which the C-shaped frame is adjacent to and away from a workpiece having an outer panel and an inner panel assembled with each other. After the C-shaped frame is advanced and a pre-hemming punch is advanced by a swing cylinder provided at the C-shaped frame, a hemming die is raised by a lifter hydraulic cylinder provided on a lower portion of the C-shaped frame and a flange of the outer panel is provisionally hemmed. Then, after retreat of the pre-hemming punch following lowering of the hemming die, the hemming die is raised again and a final hemming is conducted between the hemming die and the hemming punch.

Double tanks, for both gasoline and oil, are also fabricated by essentially the same method steps.

    摘要: A hemming press that includes a crown and a base plate separated by four corner posts. A press ram is slidably mounted on the posts between the crown and base plate. A first die is mounted to a lower surface of the press ram and a second die is mounted to an upper surface of the base plate. Workpieces to be hemmed are placed in the second die, and the press ram is moved from an upper home position to a lower hem position to perform the hemming process. Pre-hemming and final hemming steps are performed by one continuous stroke of the press ram. A pre-hem pressure is provided to the press ram by at least one electric servomotor and roller screw assembly, and a final hem pressure is provided to the press ram by at least one hydraulic actuator.

The method may be used to form a seam (40) that is capable of sealing a pressure differential between the interior chamber and the regions surrounding the thermal shield of up to about 40 psi.

    摘要: A tube forming machine for making a tube from a sheet is disclosed. The forming rolls of this invention include various V-shaped rolls at least some of which are used as part of a three-point bending technique. The three-point bending technique entails the use of a V-shaped bottom roll and a narrow top roll. The sheet is shaped running the sheet through a gap between the narrow top roll and the V-shaped bottom roll. The technique allows a wide variety of tubing to be made from the same set of forming rolls, because the curvature obtained in a sheet can be varied by opening or closing the gap. A V-shaped forming roll disclosed herein is also used at a pinch roll stand with a second complementary V-shaped roll. The pinch roll stand of this invention creates an initial V-shaped sheet which facilitates the threading of the sheet at the start of a forming operation. Brimmed rolls are also disclosed. Brimmed rolls have a relatively sharp included angle, and are used to engage the edges of a sheet and to press the sheet against a single bottom roll in brimmed roll stand.

    摘要: It is an object of the present invention to provide a novel roll-forming method for steel pipes and equipment for same with which (1) the evidence that forming work in the FF forming method is mainly carried out at the cluster forming portion showing the poor formability is modified and improved without any deteriorating the advantage of the common-utilization of rolls in the FF forming method which employs basically the circular-bend method, and (2) the forming function at the breakdown forming portion is enhanced. Accordingly, the pinch-point formed by the upper and lower rolls is set at a boundary area between the target forming zone in the material's width direction and previously-formed zone or un-formed zone. The target forming zone is wound around a certain caliber of the upper roll on the bend-inner side, and bend-formed in such a way that the target forming zone is almost in non-contact with the lower roll as a result, the formability is remarkably improved and occurrences of roll flaws and roll marks or buckling can be prevented.
