摘要： A drum pillow for use in a bass drum is disclosed herein. The drum pillow can be permanently or removably inserted into the interior of the bass drum shell. The preferred embodiment of the drum pillow is used to “deaden” or modify the sound, esp. overtones, of the bass drum during live performances, particularly when the drum is being struck by a typical foot-operated bass beater. An alternate embodiment is designed for use in studio recording sessions, where the situation calls for an even “deader” sound. Also disclosed herein is a method for using the drum pillow for the purposes described.

摘要： A standing structure of a striking mechanism for a bass drum includes a base plate with two arms extending from the base plate. Each of the two arms has a first recess defined thereon to receive a barrel having bearing inside. Two retaining caps are connected together by a connecting rod, and each retaining cap has a second recess corresponding to the first recess defined thereon. The barrels can be force fitted and clamped in the combined first recess and the second recess, and the bearings in the barrels can be connected to a long shaft and a short shaft. The standing structure can enhance the stability of a strike of the bass drum, the precision when assembling the stand structure, and is suitable for a left-footed or a right-footed person to play the bass drum.

摘要： A musical instrument stand such as a hi-hat stand is basically constructed by a pair of cymbals, a stand member, a foldable tripod containing three legs, a pedal frame, an operation rod, a return spring, a transmission member, a pedal, a heel and an interconnection member. Normally, the return spring applies resilience to the operation rod, a lower end of which is being pressed upwardly together with a front end of the pedal by means of the transmission member. In addition, the interconnection member is formed in a U-shape, in which a bent portion is fixed to the heel of the pedal while ends are detachably attached to feet of the pedal frame. For storage and transportation of the musical instrument stand, the ends of the interconnection member being elastically deformed are disconnected from the feet of the pedal frame. Herein, straight portions of the interconnection member are held by holders, which are U-shape channels projecting downwardly from a back surface of the pedal. In addition, the pedal is lifted upwardly and is hooked on the stand member such that a pedal holding member, which is a hexagon head bolt being attached to the stand member, is engaged with a hole at a back-end portion of the pedal. This prevents the pedal and interconnection member from rotating and moving around when the musical instrument stand is transported. Thus, it is possible to improve transportability and portability of the musical instrument stand.

摘要： A drum head material is prepared by assembling a multi-layer laminate comprising upper and lower sheets of resilient, polymeric film and at least two oriented fiber layers positioned between said sheets. Each of the oriented fiber layers comprises parallel resilient fibers having high modulus of elasticity and a defined direction of orientation. The layers are positioned such that the directions of orientation of the two layers intersect. The layers are pressed to adhere them and form a drumhead membrane. In the preferred form, the films are of polyethylene terephthalate and the fibers are of polyaramid. If two fiber layers are employed, the fibers in the layers preferably intersect at right angles. If three layers of fibers are employed, the fibers preferably intersect at an angle of 60 degrees.

摘要： An improved drumstick or percussion striking device wherein the device consists of an elongated member having a striking tip at one end a handle butt at the end remote from the tip and a protrusion or bump intermediate the tip and butt, thus spaced axially from each but more proximate to the tip than to the butt, thereby enabling the percussionist to strike the same object with both tip and protrusion or two objects one with tip and one with protrusion. An axially disposed oval hand grip on the handle portion and structure for adding weights either to the joint between the two portions or at the butt end of the handle to weight the stick to the percussionists desire.
