Abstract: An apparatus configured to be employed in a gNodeB associated with a new radio (NR) communication system that support resource sharing between NR physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) and NR physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a processing circuit configured to generate a PDSCH dynamic rate matching resource set configuration signal comprising information on one or more overlap resource sets, wherein each the one or more overlap resource sets comprises time-frequency resources on which any overlapping PDSCH may or may not be mapped, based on an indication provided within a PDSCH rate matching indicator signal. The apparatus further comprises a radio frequency (RF) interface, configured to provide the generated PDSCH dynamic rate matching resource set configuration signal, to an RF circuitry, in order to subsequently provide the PDSCH dynamic rate matching resource set configuration signal to a user equipment (UE), in order to enable the UE to identify the one or more overlap resource sets.

Abstract: Devices and methods of using xSS are generally disclosed. A UE receives an xPSS with (Nrep) symbols each with a subcarrier spacing of K×a PSS subcarrier spacing and a duration of a PSS symbol/K. PSD subcarriers surround the xPSS and the ZC sequence is punctured to avoid transmission on a DC subcarrier. Guard subcarriers separate the xPSS and PSD when the ZC sequence is less than the occupied BW of the xPSS and at least one element in the ZC sequence is punctured for xPSS symbol generation otherwise. One or more xSSSs and xS-SCHs may follow the xPSS. The xSS may be omnidirectional, each having a same xPSS and different xSSS or xS-SCH or a different xPSS and same xSSS or xS-SCH or beamformed, each having different xPSSs and xSSSs or xS-SCHs or a same xPSS and different xSSS or xS-SCH.

Abstract: Embodiments of a Machine Type Communication User Equipment (MTC UE), Next Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are generally described herein. The MTC UE may determine a system timing based on reception of a primary synchronization signal (PSS) and a secondary synchronization signal (SSS). The MTC UE may receive, from the gNB, radio resource control (RRC) signaling that indicates one or more parameters of a configurable resynchronization signal (RSS). The RSS may be for resynchronization, by the MTC UE, after the MTC UE awakens from a power save mode. The parameters of the RSS in the RRC signaling may depend on a target coverage of the MTC UE. The MTC UE may determine an updated system timing based on reception of the RSS.

Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Evolved Node-B (eNB) and methods for communication are generally described herein. The UE may receive downlink control information (DCI) that schedules a transport block (TB) that includes multiple code blocks. The UE may determine a transport block size (TBS) based on the DCI. The UE may attempt to decode the code blocks. The UE may, if the TBS is greater than a predetermined threshold: bundle the code blocks into code block groups for hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) acknowledgement; and transmit a HARQ bit per code block group. The UE may, if the TBS is less than or equal to the threshold, transmit a HARQ bit that indicates whether a decode failure has occurred for at least one of the code blocks of the TB.

Abstract: Embodiments may be directed to techniques to determine physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates to assign to a user equipment (UE) based on one or more aggregation levels, each PDCCH candidate in a highest aggregation level of the one or more aggregation levels assigned by a random distribution over a whole control channel element (CCE) domain, and each PDCCH candidate in one or more non-highest aggregation levels of the one or more aggregation levels assigned a random distribution over one or more CCEs utilized by PDCCH candidates of the highest aggregation level. Embodiments also include selecting at least one of the PDCCH candidates to utilize to send downlink control information (DCI) to the UE, and causing transmission of the DCI to the UE via the PDCCH candidates selected.

The apparatus may comprise a first circuitry, a second circuitry, and a third circuitry. The first circuitry may be operable to detect a beam failure event. The second circuitry may be operable to generate a beam failure recovery request for transmission to the gNB, in response to the beam failure event. The third circuitry may be operable to monitor for Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) in a search space configured by the gNB, subsequent to a transmission of the beam failure recovery request.

Abstract: Devices for and methods of providing low latency 5G FDD communications are generally described. A HARQ ACK/NACK for an xPDSCH is transmitted in the xPUCCH of the same or next subframe as the xPDSCH and xPDCCH. An xPUSCH is generated in the same subframe in response to an xPDCCH and HARQ ACK/NACK response is carried by another xPDCCH or xPHICH in the same or next sub frame. The xPDCCH and the xPUCCH are at opposite ends of the same subframe, DL and UL subframe are delayed relative to each other, or at least one of the DL and UL subframe has an additional blank portion, portion with data associated with another UE or portion that contains a reference signal, broadcast signal or control information.

Abstract: Devices and methods of simultaneous data reception and measurement are generally described. A UE transmits to an eNB antenna capacity and receives a Beamformed Reference Signal (BRS) configuration in response. Beamformed signals from the eNB include a BRS subframe in accordance with the BRS configuration. The BRS subframe has a BRS whose structure depends on the UE antenna capacity. If the UE has a single antenna panels, neither an EPDCCH nor a PDSCH for the UE is in the BRS frame. If the UE has a single antenna panels and multiple ports or multiple antenna panels, the BRS may contain an EPDCCH or PDSCH for the UE as different ports or antenna panels may be assigned different functionality. The UE measures BRS Received Power (BRS-RP) of the BRS, transmits a BRS report based on the BRS-RP and selects an optimal beam based on BRS-RPs from BRSs of the beams.
