    Abstract: An improved in-field referencing 1 (IFR1) technique is provided, wherein a single mid-lateral well measurement of local magnetic field is used. In one aspect of directional drilling, a single set of IFR values for a planned well is obtained. The single set of IFR values is captured at a single location in a mid-lateral section of the planned well. A global magnetic model corresponding to the Earth's magnetic field is obtained. An improved magnetic model is generated by correcting the global magnetic model for local anomalies using the single set of IFR values.

    Abstract: A system and method for steam assisted gravity drainage of hydrocarbons having increased solvent recovery to improve the economics of steam-only injection processes, such as steam assisted gravity drainage, while reducing environmental impact. Embodiments aid the condensation of solvent either by shutting-in or reducing the steam injection or by injecting a secondary lighter and cheaper solvent post solvent-steam co-injection, after which, normal steam injection at optimized operating conditions is restarted and continued until blow down while primary solvent recovery is continued, thus significantly accelerating and maximizing the recovery of solvent injected without affecting the long term cumulative bitumen production.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method of conducting a perf wash cement (“P/W/C”) abandonment job in an offshore oil or gas well annulus (2), in particular the washing or cementing operation using a rotating head (6, 8) with nozzles (7, 9) dispensing wash fluid or cement at pressure. Certain values of parameters of a washing or cementing job have been found surprisingly to affect the quality of the job, or the degree to which they affect the quality of the job has been unexpected. These include including rotation rate of the tool, the direction of translational movement of the tool, and the volume flow rate and pressure per nozzle of cement or wash fluid (and hence nozzle size).

    Abstract: A conduit seal assembly includes an outer conduit having a first end with a first opening and a second end, opposite the first end, with a second opening. A first seal is positioned in the first opening for resisting a first temperature, and a second seal is positioned in the second opening for resisting a second temperature less than the first temperature. The first and second seals define a cavity and provide an air-tight seal of the cavity, and the assembly includes a monitoring assembly configured to sense a characteristic in the cavity.
