Abstract: A behind-the-wall optical connector an outer housing configured to be inserted into an adapter with a corresponding inner surface, a ferrule included in an annular collar to mate with a corresponding projection at an adapter opening, and a latch attached to one side of housing configured to lock the connecter into an adapter opening. The latch is further configured with a locking channel and guide to accept a pull tab with a catch at one end, the pull tab releases the connector from the adapter opening when the tab is pulled rearward or away from the adapter.

Abstract: A multi-fiber, fiber optic connector may include a reversible keying arrangement for determining the orientation for plugging the connector into an adapter to thereby allow for a change in polarity of the connection to be made on site. Abstract: A boot assembly having a boot body with passageway molded from a proximal to distal end of the body. The passageway accepts a repositioning device made of a malleable material such as metal that retains its shape under internal forces of the boot assembly. The boot assembly further comprises one or more cables for fiber optics or power. Bending the flexible boot assembly from a first position to a second position, the flexible boot assembly retains the second position without returning to the first position under the resilient material of the boot.

Abstract: An adapter based connector polarity changer is described. A hook insert is placed into an adapter receptacle at a first end or second, and is removable with a removal tool. A hook insert may be permanently placed into an adapter receptacle. The hook insert oriented in the receptacle in a first position and with a first mating structure interconnects with corresponding connector second mating structure to configure the connector in a first polarity, and the hook insert removed and oriented in a second position with the first mating structure interconnects with corresponding connector second mating structure to configure the connector in a second polarity.

Abstract: A multi-fiber push on (MPO) optical connector includes a housing supporting a ferrule body. The ferrule body forms an optical connection with a second MPO optical connector. The ferrule body includes a connection end having a distal end face arranged to face the second MPO optical connector when the ferrule body forms the optical connection with the second MPO optical connector. The connection end of the ferrule body defines a recess extending proximally into the ferrule body from the distal end face. A plurality of optical fibers are received in the ferrule body. Distal ends of the optical fibers are adjacent to a proximal end of the recess such that the distal ends of the optical fibers are spaced apart from the second MPO optical connector when the ferrule body forms an optical connection with the second MPO optical connector. The distal ends of the optical fibers are coated with an anti-reflective material.
