Abstract:
A method and system is provided for enhancing an audio signal based on spectral subtraction. The noise power spectrum for each frame of an audio signal is dynamically estimated based on a plurality of signal power spectrum values computed from a corresponding plurality of adjacent frames. An over-subtraction factor is then dynamically computed for each frame based on the noise power spectrum estimated for the frame. The signal power spectrum of the audio signal at each frame is then reduced in accordance with the over-subtraction factor computed for the corresponding frame.

A method and system for Chinese speech pitch extraction is disclosed. The method and system for Chinese speech pitch extraction comprises: pre-computing an anti-bias auto-correlation of a Hamming window function; for at least one frame, saving a first candidate as an unvoiced candidate, and detecting other voiced candidates from the anti-bias auto-correlation function; and calculating a cost value for a pitch path according to a voiced/unvoiced intensity function based on the unvoiced and voiced candidates, saving a predetermined number of least-cost paths, and outputting at least a portion of contiguous frames with low time delay.

The multi-functional monitor further includes the following newly designed circuits to incorporate with the above mature circuits, including a switcher A, a switcher B, a micro controller unit, a TV flyback pulse simulating circuit, and an integrated control circuit. The multi-functional monitor possesses the functions of being used either as a computer color CRT monitor or at the same time as a multi system color television. Apart from these, there are other additional functions of its such as that of Karaoke and AV output/input and FM radio receiver. It does not need for the external speaker and the input of AV signals to operate the computer in multi-media way. It is particularly convenient for the interactive mutual-act data network which is composed of computers, broadcast televisions and telecommunications.
Abstract:
Methods and systems related to producing chips with the uniqueness property are disclosed. A random bit vector is generated using a hardware random number generator on the chip or “on the fly” as a hardware component is being produced. The generated random bit vector is stored in a one-time programmable memory of the chip. A value is derived in the chip from the random bit vector programmed in the one-time programmable memory of the chip. The derived value is exported to an external receiving module communicably connected to the chip to enable a security application provider to encrypt a message that is decryptable by the chip using a key based on the random bit vector programmed in the one-time programmable memory of the chip.

A handheld terminal is provided. The handheld terminal includes a housing, a component for operating the handheld terminal, and a pocket for forming, in the housing, a space for holding the component individually and separating the space from a main logic circuit. The pocket has a window for a connection between the component and the main logic circuit. The handheld terminal includes a bezel placed on the component, and a combiner for removable engaging the bezel with the housing.
Abstract:
A cooling fan includes a hub (40) and blades (50) extending radially from the hub. Each of the blades is divided into strip zones (505, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56), projections of homocentric arcs concentric with the hub on the blades are defined as boundaries of the zones. The zones are coated with a layer of paint with different colors to present a rainbow-liked image when the fan is in operation.
Abstract:
A portable computing device including a housing having a top surface and a bottom surface connected to one another by a pair of sides, a proximal end and a distal end, the top surface including a user interface for operation by a user. The device comprises a planar surface located on the bottom surface at the proximal end, such that the planar surface extends to either side of a centerline of the housing and in a direction towards the distal end. The planar surface defines a plane and the centerline extends in a direction between the proximal end and the distal end. The device has at least one protrusion located on the bottom surface at the distal end, such that the at least one protrusion extends between the bottom surface and the plane, such that the at least one protrusion has a respective peripheral surface lying on the plane on both sides of the centerline. The at least one protrusion and the planar surface provide stability of the device when placed on a surface adjacent to the bottom surface, the stability facilitating operation of the user interface by the user.
Abstract:
A display assembly for a portable terminal for inhibiting the penetration of foreign matter from an exterior environment into the interior of the portable terminal. The display assembly includes a display for mounting in an open faced compartment enclosed by a bottom/top cover plate, the display having a bottom surface, a plurality of side surfaces, and a top surface for interaction with a user of the portable terminal. The compartment of the enclosure of the display assembly has an interior bottom/top surface and a plurality of interior side surfaces. A resilient seal component of the display assembly is positioned between the display and the compartment, the seal component including a body including a base portion connected to a top portion by a plurality of side portions for defining an interior channel for engaging the sides of the display, once received therein. A top portion of the seal component is adapted for overlapping a portion of the top surface of the display and the base portion for overlapping at least a portion of the bottom surface of the display. The body has the exterior surface for positioning adjacent to the interior surfaces of the compartment and the interior surface of the channel for positioning adjacent to the top surface and the bottom surface and the plurality of side surfaces of the display. The seal body has a first sealing rib positioned on either the exterior surface or the interior surface of the seal body, the first sealing rib being integral, for example, with the seal body and projecting from the respective exterior or interior surface. The first sealing rib when positioned on the interior surface is for inhibiting the penetration of the foreign matter between the display and the first sealing rib and the first sealing rib when positioned on the exterior surface is for inhibiting the penetration of the foreign matter between the compartment and the first sealing rib.

An assembly comprising an enclosure having a distal end wall and a proximal end wall connected to a pair of sidewalls such that the enclosure walls connect the bottom surface to a top surface having a user interface to define an enclosure interior. The compartment is positioned in the enclosure interior. A cover is included for coupling to the compartment situated in an opening in the bottom surface at a proximal end of the enclosure, such that the cover is configured for grasping by a user with at least one finger. The cover housing includes a cover surface, a pair of cover sidewalls, a proximal cover end wall and a distal cover end wall such that the cover walls extend from the cover surface to define a cover interior.
