    摘要: In one aspect of the present invention, a pick assembly is configured that comprises a pick shank configured to be press fit directly within a bore of a block. The pick shank comprises an inside and outside surface. The pick comprises a pick head opposite the shank. The shank comprises at least one longitudinal recess extending towards the pick head along the shank from a distal end of the shank. The recess allows the shank to resiliently collapse upon insertion into the bore while maintaining a press fit between the bore and the shank.

The shank and the shearing cutter are arranged co-axially about a central axis. The shearing cutter is supported by an enlarged section that narrows towards the shearing cutter and that has a greater cross section than the shank along a plane substantially perpendicular to the central axis. The shearing cutter comprises a flat surface that is substantially perpendicular to the central axis.

    摘要: In one aspect of the invention, a high impact resistant tool having a superhard bonded to a cemented metal carbide substrate at a non-planar interface. The superhard material has a substantially pointed geometry with a sharp apex having 0.050 to 0.125 inch radius. The superhard material also has a 0.100 to 0.500 inch thickness from the apex to the non-planar interface. The diamond material comprises a 1 to 5 percent concentration of binding agents by weight.
