Abstract: A mobile advertising relay system and related methods for relaying images between a designated server and one or more mobile communication devices. The system includes at least one designated server that is configured to supply images, and a database adapted to record information relating to images, users, image publishers (e.g., advertisers), and interactions therebetween. An image queue is uniquely associated with each mobile device whereby a plurality of images are stored for future presentation to the mobile device user. In embodiments, the image queue is stored in the mobile device to facilitate rapid display of the image upon receipt of an incoming communication. The designated server includes an image selection unit for replenishing images queues, and a user profile unit for recording user preferences and image interactions. Images may be rated by the user to enable future images to be selected in accordance with the user's tastes.

Abstract: Methods and systems for correlating connections between users and links between articles to identify search and/or ad spamming are disclosed. Social networks can be used to identify connections between users for correlation with links between articles, which can be identified through searches of article contents and/or back tracing accesses to articles. One disclosed method comprises identifying first associations between a plurality of users in a network of associated users; identifying second associations between one or more users and one or more articles; identifying third associations between at least some of the articles or between some of the users and access to some of the articles; and determining at least one of the third associations is correlated with one or more of the first associations.

Abstract: A metatarsal implant (212) for insertion into a stem aperture (25) in a metatarsal (14) bone of a foot and to form a joint with the proximal phalanx (16) of the great toe, includes a head (226) and a stem (228). The head (226) includes an articular joint engaging surface (232) and an opposed, bone engaging surface (230). The stem (228) cantilevers away from the bone engaging surface (230), and is adapted to be inserted into the stem aperture (25). The stem (228) can have a stem axis (228A) that is at an angle (234) of between approximately 45 and 75 degrees relative to the bone engaging surface (230). The stem axis (228A) can also be at an angle (266) of between approximately 40 and 80 degrees relative to a tangential reference line (234) drawn from the articular joint engaging surface (232). In one embodiment, the stem axis (228A) is at an angle (266) of between approximately 50 and 70 degrees relative to the tangential reference line (234) of the articular joint engaging surface (232).

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to verify consumption of content are described herein. In an example method, a content library is generated within a data structure. The content library includes at least one content identifier associated with programming content. The programming content is insertable into content stream. A content stream including content for broadcasting on a broadcast device is received. To verify consumption of the programming content, a broadcast content identifier associated with the content for broadcasting is compared to the at least one content identifier of the content library.

Abstract: Systems and methods for the unification of search results are described. In one described system, a program, such as a search engine, executing on a client device receives a search query. The search engine executes the search on a local index and receives a first result set, which is relevant to the query entered by the user. The search query is also executed against a global index. The search engine receives a second result set from the global index. Once the search engine has received both result sets, the search engine combines the result sets to create a combined result set. The search engine may cause the combined result set to be displayed or otherwise output to a user.
