Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for displaying subjects of a portion of content and searching for content related to a particular subject in the content. Media data of content is analyzed during playback, and a number of action signatures are identified. Each action signature is associated with a particular subject within the content. The action signature is stored, along with a timestamp corresponding to a playback position at which the action signature begins, in association with an identifier of the particular subject. Upon receiving a command, icons representing each of a number of action signatures at or near the current playback position are displayed. Upon receiving user selection of an icon corresponding to a particular signature, a portion of the content corresponding to the action signature is played back or a search interface is displayed including autocomplete suggestions related to the subject of the signature.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for synchronizing video streams are provided. In some embodiments, the method comprises: identifying a target video stream and a reference video stream, wherein the target video stream and the reference video stream are two different broadcasts of a program; generating, for the target video stream, a sequence of fingerprints; determining a time shift at which the sequence of fingerprints appears within the reference video stream; determining whether the target video stream is synchronized with the reference video stream by determining whether the time shift exceeds a predetermined threshold; and, in response to determining that the target video stream is not synchronized with the reference video stream, causing an electronic programming guide that includes an indication of the target video stream to be modified based on the time shift.

Abstract: In response to an indication of a transition in a live workout, a synchronization identifier as metadata is embedded in a portion of a video stream of the live workout. The portion of the video stream of the live workout is transmitted to a remote client exercise machine. A hardware state of the remote client exercise machine is updated based at least in part on the synchronization identifier, at least in part to synchronize the remote client exercise machine with the live workout.
In response to an exercise machine joining a video stream of a live workout, a timeline comprising a set of events that are to occur over the course of the live workout is received. A portion of the video stream of the live workout is received, wherein the portion of the video stream has embedded a synchronization identifier. The portion of the video stream is rendered. A hardware state of the exercise machine is updated at least in part by evaluating the timeline using the synchronization identifier embedded in the portion of the video stream, at least in part to synchronize the exercise machine with the live workout.
An occurrence of a workout event with respect to one or more participants of a live workout is received. A prioritization of the event is determined based at least in part on at least one of a recency of the event or a categorization of the event. The event and the corresponding prioritization to a client exercise machine is transmitted, wherein a position of a presentation of the event on a feed of events on the client exercise machine is based at least in part on the prioritization of the event.-

Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for presenting media content items with aggregated timed reactions are provided. In some embodiments, a method for presenting media content items with viewer reactions includes: retrieving a plurality of reactions associated with a media content item, wherein each reaction in the plurality of reactions comprises a reaction timestamp that corresponds to a time within the media content item at which a reaction was received and a graphical icon that was selected from a plurality of graphical icons that each correspond to one of the plurality of reactions; grouping the plurality of reactions based on the reaction timestamp and based on the selected graphical icon; identifying a plurality of key moments within the media content item based on the grouping of the plurality of reactions, wherein each of the plurality of key moments is associated with a representative graphical icon that corresponds to an aggregated viewer reaction; receiving a request from a user device to present the media content item; and causing the media content item to be presented in a video window while concurrently presenting the aggregated viewer reaction within the video window when a current playback position of the media content item corresponds to a time window associated with each of the plurality of key moments.

Abstract: This invention provides a means to identify unknown media programming using the audio component of said programming. The invention extracts audio information from the media received by consumer electronic devices such as smart TVs and TV set-top boxes then conveys said information to a remote server means which will in turn identify said audio information of unknown identity by way of testing against a database of known audio segment information. The system identifies unknown media programming in real-time such that time-sensitive services may be offered such as interactive television applications providing contextually related information or television advertisement substitution. Other uses include tracking media consumption among many other services.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to facilitate matching of names for same media content are disclosed. Example methods include analyzing first data associated with first media content and, when a program name/identifier and/or episode name/identifier is not identified in the first data, supplementing the data with second data to form third data and processing the third data with respect to fourth data associated with second media content and calculating a composite match score including a program match score and an episode match score based on processing the third data with respect to the fourth data. When the first media content is determined to match the second media content based on the processing of the third data with respect to the fourth data and a comparison of the composite match score to a threshold is satisfied, a normalized media name is generated for the first media content and the second media content.
