Abstract: The present teachings provide an image head with a housing, an integrated sensor and lens assembly (ISLA), a port, and componentry. The housing has a front side a rear side located opposite the front side; a top side located between the front side and the rear side; and a bottom side located opposite the top side and between the front side and the rear side. The ISLA extends from the front side and is configured to detect images. The port is located on the rear side that is configured to electrically connect the image head to a base when the image head is inserted into the base. The internal componentry has a printed circuit board in communication with an integrated sensor of the ISLA and a memory located on the printed circuit board and configured to store the images. The internal componentry controls the image head.

Abstract: A camera housing includes a first surface and a second surface noncoplanar with the first surface. A first interconnect mechanism is coupled to the first surface and rotatable between a collapsed position and an extended position. In the collapsed position, protrusions of the first interconnect mechanism extend parallel to the first surface. In the extended position, the protrusions of the first interconnect mechanism extend in a perpendicular manner away from the first surface. A second interconnect mechanism is coupled to the second surface and rotatable between a collapsed position and an extended position. In the collapsed position, protrusions of the second interconnect mechanism include coplanar surfaces and extend adjacent to the second surface. In the extended position, the protrusions of the second interconnect mechanism extend in a perpendicular manner away from the second surface.

Abstract: The image capture device includes a receptacle defined within a housing and an optic system that is removably connect with the receptacle and to generate thermal energy. The image capture device includes a heatsink positioned at a base of the receptacle. The heatsink includes an inner support positioned within the housing and an outer support in thermal communication with the optic system and the inner support. The heatsink further includes a gasket integrated with the receptacle to form a watertight seal, sandwiched between portions of the inner and outer supports, and flexibly retaining a physical connection between the optic system and the outer support.

Abstract: A method of assembling an image capture device that includes: positioning a first sealing member between a front housing portion and a mounting structure; connecting the mounting structure to the front housing portion such that the first sealing member forms a watertight seal therebetween; positioning a second sealing member between the mounting structure and an integrated sensor-lens assembly (ISLA); orienting the second sealing member such that a locating feature extending rearwardly from the mounting structure is aligned with a notch defined by the second sealing member to facilitate proper relative orientation of the mounting structure and the second sealing member; connecting the ISLA to the mounting structure such that the locating feature is positioned within the notch and the second sealing member forms a watertight seal between the ISLA and the mounting structure; and connecting a rear housing portion to the front housing portion.

Abstract: An image capture device including a bayonet, an integrated sensor and lens assembly (ISLA), and fasteners. The bayonet includes a mounting flange that connects the bayonet to a first surface the image capture device, a central portion, and connection recesses located within the central portion. The ISLA includes: a forward end that aligns with the connection recesses; a rearward end; internal lenses located within the ISLA and being aligned along an optical axis; and an integrated sensor connected to the rearward end and located along the optical axis. The fasteners extending through the central portion into the forward end of the lens assembly to connect the ISLA to the bayonet.
