One embodiment comprises detecting position of a pointer by a user relative to a content element in a graphical user interface displayed on an electronic display screen; displaying a popup window at a location on the graphical user interface while the pointer hovers over the content element, wherein the popup window includes a bump zone indicating that the popup window is moveable; detecting proximity of the pointer relative to the bump zone while the pointer hovers over the content element; and transitioning the popup window to a new location on the graphical user interface based on the detected proximity and movement of the pointer relative to the bump zone.

    摘要: The present invention concerns methods and apparatus for enabling manual control over selection of a value for at least one operating parameter of a computer system resource. Manual control is enabled by de-coupling a pointer of a graphical indicator and control from an automated system advisor. During automated operation, the automated system advisor selects the value for the parameter of the computer system resource as indicated on a scale of the graphical indicator and control by the pointer. When the pointer of the graphical indicator is under manual control, a user can select the value of the at least one operating parameter of the computer system resource using the pointer of the graphical indicator and control. The present invention also concerns methods and apparatus for disabling manual control over selection of a value for at least one operating parameter of a computer system resource by re-coupling the pointer to an automated system advisor. The present invention further concerns hybrid control modes that permit users to exercise a degree of control over operations of an automated selection process in a graphical indicator and control.

    摘要: The present invention concerns methods and apparatus for implementing the ability to transpose rows and columns of a table displayed in a graphical user interface of a computer system. In embodiments of the invention, at least one in-line table row and column control is incorporated in the table; when selected, the in-line table row and column control causes information originally arrayed in columns to be displayed in rows, and causes information originally arrayed in rows to be displayed in columns. In other embodiments of the present invention, a user can select subsets of rows or columns for display in a transposed table with a filter function that operates in combination with the in-line table row and column control. After a filter selection is made, information contained in rows and columns not selected is filtered out and only information in selected rows and columns will be displayed in the transposed table.
