摘要： A computing resource management system maintains plural sessions for managing plural computing resources using an administration console. The system further maintains a management user interface on an electronic display screen of the administration console. The management user interface includes plural tabbed user interface elements, wherein each user interface element corresponds to a session for managing a computing resource via a communication link. The system dynamically refreshes the status of each computing resource in a corresponding user interface element tab in the management user interface. User interaction with a user interface element based on user input is monitored, and based on the user interaction with a user interface element, display a panel is displayed on the display for the user managing the corresponding computing resource.

One embodiment comprises generating a graphical statistical representation of a data set and displaying the graphical statistical representation on an electronic display. Based on user adjusting one or more of the manipulable graphical elements specifying one or more adjusted statistical ranges, the data set is filtered to correspond to the graphical statistical representation within the one or more adjusted statistical ranges.

The event log system includes an event log displaying error messages associated with the error events captured within the computer system, and displaying inline error resolution information within each error message corresponding to each respective error event. 摘要： The present invention concerns methods and apparatus for enabling manual control over selection of a value for at least one operating parameter of a computer system resource. Manual control is enabled by de-coupling a pointer of a graphical indicator and control from an automated system advisor. During automated operation, the automated system advisor selects the value for the parameter of the computer system resource as indicated on a scale of the graphical indicator and control by the pointer. When the pointer of the graphical indicator is under manual control, a user can select the value of the at least one operating parameter of the computer system resource using the pointer of the graphical indicator and control. The present invention also concerns methods and apparatus for disabling manual control over selection of a value for at least one operating parameter of a computer system resource by re-coupling the pointer to an automated system advisor. The present invention further concerns hybrid control modes that permit users to exercise a degree of control over operations of an automated selection process in a graphical indicator and control.
