    摘要: An image forming apparatus capable of performing monochrome printing and color printing in which all the developing units share a single development transformer is constructed such that at the time of monochrome printing the photoreceptor drums for colors are stopped rotating while all the developing units are constantly applied with a high voltage. Further, the cumulative operation time in which the black photoreceptor drum has been operated for monochrome printing is calculated so that the color-printing photoreceptor drums which are stopped during monochrome printing are rotationally driven by a predetermined angle when the cumulative operation time exceeds predetermined fixed time. Thus, the surface of each color-printing photoreceptor drum that is being worn is restored by making the fresh surface of the drum oppose the associated color developing unit, whereby it is possible to prevent occurrence of defects on the surface of each photoreceptor drum.

    摘要: The developing device according to the present invention includes a developing tank for containing two-component developer, a toner density sensor, and a toner cartridge. Further, the developing device according to the present invention includes a control section for inputting, to the toner density sensor, a control voltage (Vc) for correcting a sensor output. The control section sets the control voltage (Vc), by using a standard control voltage having been set so as to correspond to each of the stirring velocities, so that a sensor output (Vo) has a value within a range indicative of predetermined toner density. With the arrangement, it is possible to set the toner density sensor so that the toner density sensor operates in the most suitable manner so as to correspond to each of the stirring velocities, thereby realizing a developing device capable of detecting toner density with high accuracy.

    摘要: An image processing apparatus of the present invention is provided with a region separating section and an automatic adjusting section. The region separating section, upon receiving a reference document having a specified ratio of a character region, a photographic region, and a spot region, recognizes and separates the each region of the received document from one another. The automatic adjusting section (1) counts the number of pixels in each of the separated regions and (2) uses the number of pixels thus counted to change a density conversion table, a filter, or a region separation table so as to adjust the separated state of each region such that the number of pixels thus counted is substantially equal to the number of pixels of the region separation state, thereby improving the accuracy of region separation of the image processing apparatus and the image quality of a final image after it is processed with image processing.
