    Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for radio frequency (RF) sensing. In an aspect, a network entity, such as a base station, may identify an opportunity for RF sensing during which a user equipment (UE) does not transmit signals, the opportunity comprising a guard period of the UE, a bandwidth part (BWP) switching period of the UE, or a beam switching period of the UE. The network entity may transmit an RF sensing signal, receive an RF sensing signal, or both, during the opportunity for RF sensing. In an aspect, a UE may determine an opportunity for a network entity to perform RF sensing while the UE does not transmit signals, the opportunity comprising a guard period of the UE, a BWP switching period of the UE, or a beam switching period of the UE. The UE may indicate, to the network entity, the opportunity for RF sensing.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit a channel state information (CSI) reference signal (CSI-RS) to a user equipment (UE) using heterogenous antenna panels, where a first antenna panel used to transmit the CSI-RS may have a different number of antenna ports than a second antenna panel used to transmit the CSI-RS. The UE may generate a codebook to report CSI based on the heterogenous antenna panels. In some cases, the UE may report compressed CSI if the antenna panels are in close proximity together.

    Abstract: A technique is performed at a user equipment (UE) for supporting one or more radio frequency (RF) sensing measurements. A reflected downlink signal is received, wherein the reflected downlink signal is transmitted as a downlink signal from a base station and reflected off of a target. An uplink signal is transmitted to be reflected off of the target and received by the base station as a reflected uplink signal. A UE receive-transmit (RX-TX) time difference is determined, representing a difference between a time at which the reflected downlink signal is received by the UE and a time at which the uplink signal is transmitted by the UE. A UE measured frequency offset is determined based on reception of the reflected downlink signal, the UE measured frequency offset comprising a Doppler shift component corresponding to a velocity of the target.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit, from a UE to a base station, one or more reference signals over a channel. The UE may receive, from the base station based at least in part on transmitting the one or more reference signals, control signaling indicating a precoding matrix indicator (PMI) and a rank indicator (RI) based at least in part on the UE having at least eight transmit antennas and based at least in part on a phase difference between different subsets of transmit antennas of the at least eight transmit antennas. The UE may transmit, to the base station, an uplink transmission configured according to the PMI and the RI.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a user equipment (UE) may communicate on first and second carriers, and may support either two transmit chains or three transmit chains on a second carrier. A base station may configure different sounding reference signal (SRS) resources for different numbers of transmit chains. SRS resources configured with two ports may indicate two transmit chains, and SRS resource configured with three ports may indicate three transmit chains. The base station may indicate an index associated with an SRS resource, and the UE may select (e.g., based on a mapping between the SRS Configuration Information resource index and a number of SRS ports and a number of transmit chains), a corresponding SRS resource, number of ports, number of transmit chains, or any combination thereof. The base station may indicate a number of transmit chains for a given SRS resource based on a PMI index.

In some aspects, a wireless communication device may select a codebook for a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication from among one or more codebooks that include one or more of non-coherent codebooks for 6 or 8 antennas of the wireless communication device, partially-coherent codebooks for multiple paired antennas of the 6 or 8 antennas of the wireless communication device, or full-coherent codebooks for the 6 or 8 antennas of the wireless communication device.
