    摘要： Methods, systems, and articles of manufacture that may be used to create and share annotations for query components, such as query conditions, in an effort to share domain knowledge, are provided. The annotations may be created by users with particular domain knowledge and may contain information useful to other users when building queries including the annotated query components. As an example, an annotation may indicate a particular format or syntax an associated query component should take. For some embodiments, a replacement to the associated query component may also be suggested.

Generally, for each incremental query element added, a query performance analysis is performed with respect to one or more runtime metrics such as total execution time and runtime resource consumption. The results of the analysis are provided as feedback to the user constructing the query.

One embodiment provides a logical representation of all of the available data in underlying physical entities by defining a plurality of logical fields abstractly describing data stored by the associated physical entities, receiving an abstract query comprising at least one logical field of the plurality of logical fields, retrieving at least one condition defining at least one property common to a plurality of physical entities of the queryable data, associating the at least one condition with the abstract query and, in accordance with the at least one condition, restricting the queryable data to the subset of all the available data when executing the abstract query.
