Abstract:
An organic light-emitting device includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and an emission layer between the first electrode and the second electrode, in which the emission layer may include a fluorescent host and a fluorescent dopant. The device includes a charge balance layer (CBL) adjacent to the emission layer and between the emission layer and the second electrode. When the LUMO of the charge balance layer (ECL) is at least 0.2 eV higher than the LUMO of the electron transport layer (EEL), and the HOMO of the charge balance layer (ECH) is at least 0.2 eV lower than the HOMO of the fluorescent dopant (EdH), the rate of electron injection into the emission layer can be controlled, and direct electron injection into the host and dopant at the same or substantially the same time can be achieved, thereby improving the device efficiency.
