Abstract: Systems and methods for managing membership in a private data exchange are provided herein. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving a request for access to a first listing of a data exchange, each listing of the data exchange comprising version metadata. The method further includes, in response to the request, accessing a first version of a data set referenced by the first listing, wherein the first version of the data set comprises a first structure defined by first version metadata, a second listing of the data exchange references a second version of the data set, the second version of the data set comprising a second structure defined by second version metadata, and the second structure is incompatible with the first structure.

In an example, privileges are assigned to a share object, granting access to consumer information obtained from a query against data referenced by a data listing of a data exchange. The data exchange comprises one or more data listings provided by one or more data providers. In response to the share object being added to a list of consumed share objects of a data provider that provided the data listing, a database is generated that references the consumer information based on the share object. Access to the database is granted to the data provider that provided the data listing.

Abstract: Provided herein are systems and methods for an efficient method of replicating share objects to remote deployments. An example method includes receiving, at a first deployment in a data exchange, a refresh message from a second deployment in the data exchange, wherein the first deployment comprises a database that stores a database object. The method also includes, in response to receiving the refresh message, retrieving, at the first deployment, a share grant from a share object of the first deployment and transmitting, by a processing device of the first deployment, a message including the share grant to the second deployment. The share grant includes a reference to the database object and allows a consumer to use the database object.

Abstract: A method of implementing sub-table replication starts with the processor detecting an update to an entitlements table. The processor performs filtering of a data table based on the update to the entitlements table. The data table including an entitlements column. The processor detects an update to the entitlements column and performs incremental replication of the data table by causing a version-based replication to be executed. Other embodiments are also described herein.

Abstract: A system for sub-table replication within a materialized view of a source data table. A materialized view of a source data table is generated based on a query, the source data table having a plurality of data table rows associated with a plurality of client identifiers and including an entitlements column and data content, the entitlements column including a plurality of provider account identifiers and a plurality of consumer account identifiers. An update to an entitlements table of the source data table is detected where the entitlements table includes a plurality of entitlements table rows and where the entitlements table rows are associated with the client identifiers, the consumer account identifiers, and the provider account identifiers. An update to the source data table based on the first update to the entitlements table is detected, and an incremental replication of the materialized view of the source data table is performed.

Abstract: Providing a private data exchange is described. An example computer-implemented method can include providing a data exchange by a cloud computing service on behalf of an entity. The data exchange may comprise several data listings provided by one or more data providers. The data listings reference one or more data sets stored in a data storage platform associated with the cloud computing service. The method may also include designating a data exchange administrator account of the data exchange. The data exchange administrator account may be associated with the entity and may be capable of: granting and denying requests from data consumers to access the data exchange; and granting and denying requests from data providers to publish data listings on the data exchange.
