Abstract:
Illumination with DMD and laser modulated adaptive beam shaping. A DMD illumination system includes a plurality of laser illumination sources, each of the plurality of illumination sources directing light onto a phosphor arranged between the plurality of laser illumination sources and a digital micro-mirror device; control circuitry coupled to the plurality of illumination sources and to the digital micro-mirror device configured for controlling the position of the array of micro-mirrors and further configured for providing control signals to each of the plurality of laser illumination sources, so that the light from the plurality of laser illumination sources strikes the phosphor and is then directed from the phosphor onto the array of micro-mirrors in the digital micro-mirror device when the micro-mirrors are at a predetermined position, and the light is reflected from the digital micro-mirror device and out of the system. Methods are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A DMD illumination system having multiple illumination sources. A DMD illumination system is provided that includes a plurality of illumination sources, each of the illumination sources directing light onto the digital micro-mirror device corresponding to a respective position of an array of micro-mirrors, each illumination source being positioned to cause reflected light from the array of micro-mirrors to be projected out of the system, and control circuitry coupled to the plurality of illumination sources and to the digital micro-mirror device configured for controlling the position of the array of micro-mirrors and further configured for providing control signals for turning each of the plurality of illumination sources on and off, so that the light from the plurality of illumination sources strikes the array of micro-mirrors and the light is reflected from the digital micro-mirror device and out of the system. Methods are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method and device for eye gaze tracking has coincident display and imaging channel with shared field of view; a pupil forming/collimating subsystem that is part of the imaging channel; and a microdisplay that is part of the imaging channel. The method and device enable simultaneous display and eye tracking by using a pond of mirrors in a micromirror array.
