摘要: A reciprocating saw for cutting material. The reciprocating saw includes a drive system and a gear arrangement that is designed to cause first and second reciprocating saw blades to partially or fully reciprocate in opposite directions. The gear arrangement is connected or interconnected to first and second blade carrying arms. The first reciprocating saw blade is connected to the first blade carrying arm and the second reciprocating saw blade is connected to the second blade carrying arm. The gear arrangement causes the first and second blade carrying arms to move when the drive system is activated to thereby cause the first and second reciprocating saw blades to partially or fully reciprocate in opposite directions relative to one another. The gear arrangement is designed to enable a stroke length of the first and second reciprocating saw blades to be changed.

摘要: An improvement for a reciprocal saw is disclosed, the saw being of the type having an oscillating drive shaft and a counter weight that oscillates in opposing phase to the drive shaft for the purpose of reducing vibration. The improvement comprises a lateral extension arm fixed to the counter weight and projecting generally towards the drive shaft. The extension arm is connected to a mounting plate that projects generally parallel to the drive shaft towards the distal end of the drive shaft, such that when the saw is activated the drive shaft oscillates oppositely, but in parallel, to the mounting plate. A mounting cover is fixed to the mounting plate with a mounting means and includes a channel therein formed generally longitudinally parallel to the drive shaft and adapted to capture both a first saw blade slidably therein and a second saw blade fixedly therein. The first saw blade is fixed to a blade mounting means of the drive shaft and the second saw blade is fixed to the mounting plate with a blade mounting means thereof. Each blade further includes a blade fixing means for keeping the distal ends of the blades in close sliding mutual contact.

摘要: A battery-powered carving knife is shown having a housing and a switch, which connects and disconnects a battery to a motor. A drive mechanism including a worm gear together with a cam member causes reciprocation of reciprocating blade mounts to reciprocate back and forth in an out of phase fashion. The motor is positioned forward within the housing in motor receiving section, with the drive shaft of the motor facing rearwardly. The blade mounts are driven by the motor, and reciprocate in a position below the motor. The motor and blade mounts are positioned in front of a handgrip section, thereby improving the ergonomics of the device. Alternatively, the drive shaft can be positioned facing forward.

摘要: A hand-held power tool, for example a reciprocating saw, a chain saw, or a hedge trimmer, has a rear handle and a T-shaped forward handle formed by a forwardly directed strut with a crossbar. Looped side handles are detachably mounted on each side of the tool. Upper legs of the side handles are detachably connected to opposite ends of the forward handle crossbar. Lower legs of the side handles are detachably connected to bosses on opposite sides of the tool's housing adjacent its bottom. The side handles can be mounted with screws, or interlocking elements, or a combination of both. Preferably the forward handle is integrally formed with an upper part of the tool's housing. Both side handles may be omitted and the tool held by the forward and rear handles, this reducing the width of the tool.

摘要: An electric knife having a housing, a motor fixed in the housing having a drive shaft disposed for rotation about a drive axis, a spur gear fixed to the end of the drive shaft, a flange fixed to the motor including an integrally formed, axially-projecting output shaft coaxial to an output axis and parallel to the drive axis, an output gear in meshing engagement with and driven by the spur gear disposed on the output shaft for rotation about the output axis, a tubular element coaxially engaging the output gear for rotation therewith about the output axis, the tubular element including a cylindrical cam in the outside surface thereof, and a pair of blade holders disposed in the housing in adjacent, opposed relation for independent, linear reciprocation parallel to and on opposite sides of the output axis. Each blade holder has a first end for releasably engaging a blade and a second end including a cam follower engaging the cam, the cam followers engaging the cam at positions 180 degrees apart such that rotation of the output gear generates independent, opposite linear reciprocation of the blade holders.

摘要: This invention relates to the counter-reciprocating double blade saws including a pair of the saw blades disposed in side by side relationship, one extremity of each of the two saw blades is connected to two counter-reciprocating holders driven by a power source, respectively, which arrangement is for the counter-reciprocating double blade saw of the saber saw type. The other extremities of the two saw blades connected to two reciprocating saw blade holders at their one extremities are connected to a pair of the idler counter-reciprocating saw blade holders supported by the common frame that also supports the drive counter-reciprocating saw blade holders in the construction of the counter-reciprocating double blade saw of the bow saw or butcher saw type. The counter-reciprocating double blade saw of the two-man type saw is constructed when said common frame is removed in the counter-reciprocating double blade saw of the bow or butcher saw type and a pair of handles are added to two opposite extremities.
