摘要:
A glassware package formed from a foldable blank has a top wall, a bottom wall, a pair of end walls, and an open front and back. The top and bottom walls include means for retaining a plurality of glassware items therein. Each end wall includes a flat end wall panel and a pair of support panels extending inwardly therefrom. The support panels are joined to each other at a location spaced inwardly from the end wall panel and are supported off the end wall panel. The end wall panel and support panels together form a beam-type end wall which abuts the top and bottom walls and resists relative movement of the top wall toward the bottom wall. When the blank is printed on one surface only and folded so that the printed surface forms the outer surfaces of the package, the visible sides of the support panels, and thus the insides of the end walls, are formed from the printed surface of the blank, thereby allowing the insides of the end walls to have printed matter thereon.

In a container carrier for use in the conveyance of a plurality of beverage laden containers, the carriers formed of a pair of end walls connected with a bottom wall, a top structure for the carrier, and a pair of side walls connecting to either side of the carrier to provide it with significant closure; each side wall being formed of a pair of panels, the first comprising a bottom panel, while the second forms an upper panel that adheres along its lower edge with the first panel. A tear strip is provided along the length within each second panel, and when removed, provides for a pivoting upwardly of at least the upper portion of the second panel for removal of the beverage containers. In addition, a pair of lines of perforation or scores are formed in the top structure of the carrier, and when torn free, form a handle grip, reinforced through the addition of tape, that allows for carrying during the return of the beverage containers back to the source of purchase.

A receptacle for carrying and displaying glassware formed from a blank comprising a single sheet of paper stock. The receptacle includes an open front and rear rectangular parallelopiped sleeve having a top, a bottom, and opposite side walls connecting the top and bottom wall, all of which are hinged to each other. Four cylindrical glassware items can be supported within the receptacle and displayed between a divider wall provided along the interior of the bottom and top wall and the outer edges of the receptacle. The divider wall is collapsible within the interior of the receptacle so as to enable the receptacle sides, top, and bottom, to pivot relative to each other and assume a substantially flat state for transportation and storage. A divider wall latching mechanism is movable from a first position which latches the divider wall in its upright position to a second position which allows the divider wall to collapse and thus cause the carrier to assume its flat state.

An article carrier formed from a unitary blank and comprising a bottom wall, a pair of side walls foldably joined respectively to the side edges of the bottom wall, a pair of overlapping top panels foldably joined respectively to the upper edges of the side walls, a securing aperture formed in one of the top panels and having a diagonal securing edge, a securing tab foldably joined to the other top panel and disposed in the securing aperture with the fold line between the securing tab and the other top panel disposed in substantial coincidence with the securing edge, a pair of retaining flaps foldably joined respectively to the end edges of the bottom wall, a pair of tuck flaps foldably adjoined along adjacent edges and foldably joined along the edges thereof remote from the adjacent edges respectively to the adjacent side wall and the adjacent retaining flap, a locking aperture formed in one of the tuck flaps, and a locking tab struck from the other tuck flap and adapted to form an interlocked relationship with the locking aperture.

A system for supplying to jobbers, in packaged form, quantities of bottled or canned beverages, or other products, similarly packaged, which enables the jobbers to readily convert the cartons, in which the packaged products are shipped, into display cases or trays, by removing portions of the shipping containers without disturbing the contents, so as to display and provide access to the multi-unit packages, and wherein the multi-unit packages are formed by tightly wrapping a cut and scored paperboard blank about the top, bottom and sides of an assembly of the bottles or cans which wrapper blank is provided with tear lines or areas near the bottom on opposite sides of the wrapper which enable the major portion of the wrapper to be torn off by an upward pull on top portions of the wrapper without the need for access to the sides thereof and which leaves the individual bottles or cans undisturbed but accessible for ready removal individually.
摘要:
A package of containerized goods, a packaging method, and a crate-like carton. The carton has a mostly-open top wall and partly-open front and rear walls, with closed bottom and side walls, all made from a single, continuous, generally rectangular blank of corrugated board. The vertical side walls are hinged to the bottom wall, and a top reinforcing horizontal wall portion is hinged to each of the side walls. Front and rear flaps are attached to each of the bottom, vertical and top walls. The flaps hinged to the bottom wall have a median height no more than half the height of the side walls and are secured to the flaps that are hinged to the side walls, which are substantially less than half as wide as the bottom wall. Also secured to these flaps are the flaps from the top wall, which are narrower than the flaps secured to the side walls. In one form of the invention, the topwall flaps meet the bottom-wall flaps along a diagonal line. The containers, whether single-tiered or plural-tiered, substantially fill the carton, and individual containers can be taken out through the top of the carton without having to open it. During packaging, the carton is brought snugly around the containers, and this snugness strengthens the carton walls during subsequent stacking of cartons.
