    摘要: Method for replacing an outer annular ring a fluid swivel (1), the fluid swivel being adapted to allow fluid transfer across a rotary interface between the end of a fluid line connected to the seabed and product piping on a vessel for gas and oil production, wherein the swivel (1) comprises an inner annular ring (3) and an outer annular ring, the rings being located with their adjacent cylindrical surfaces in close proximity for defining a chamber (2), for receiving a fluid, between the peripheral opposing faces of the inner annular ring and the outer annular ring, wherein the inner annular ring (3) is adapted to be connected to the end of the fluid line and wherein the outer annular ring is adapted to be connected to the product piping on the vessel, wherein the method comprises the steps of: removing the outer annular ring, replacing the outer annular ring by means of a first semi-circular element (10) and a second semi-circular element (20), and fixing the first semi-circular element (10) to the second semi-circular element (20), by means of a fixing means, to form the replacement outer annular ring of the swivel.

    摘要: An assembly for connecting a sprinkler to a branch line of a fire suppression system includes a flexible conduit having one end attached to the branch line. The opposite end is attached to the sprinkler. An adapter may be positioned between the conduit and the sprinkler, between the conduit and the branch line, or between the conduit and both the branch line and the sprinkler. The adapter contains a rotating joint which prevents torque from being applied to the conduit. The joint may be a ball joint, a coaxial joint or an external sleeve. The sleeve is positioned surrounding the conduit. The sleeve may have a hexagonal outer surface and rotates freely about the conduit to prevent torque from being applied to the conduit.

    摘要: A rotating joint for a sprinkler that provides a substantially constant rate of rotation regardless of water pressure and flow rate fluctuations. The joint includes a stationary lower portion that is in fluid communication with a pipe that delivers pressurized water to the sprinkler, and a moveable upper portion rotatably connected to the stationary lower portion about a substantially vertical axis. The moveable upper portion rotates in response to tangential forces that are applied by an impulse arm carried on a barrel from which pressurized water is discharged. The rate of rotation of the moveable upper portion is controlled by a braking mechanism that includes a pair of disks rigidly attached to the stationary lower portion and a pair of breaking elements mounted on the moveable upper portion. The pair of disks are located between and are in frictional engagement with the pair of braking elements with the pair of disks being secured against rotational and axial displacement with respect to the stationary lower portion. Variations in water pressure axially displace the moveable upper portion with respect to the stationary lower portion so that a braking element exerts a frictional force on a disk that is proportional to the water pressure to result in a self-adjusting braking force.
