摘要： A keyswitch includes a tubular plunger with a body slidable vertically in an open-top housing that has a bottom wall supporting the lower end of a coil spring extending up around a pair of opposed upright spring contact strips, the lower ends of which extend through the bottom wall. The inside of the plunger is provided with a cross member that normally separates the upper ends of the contact strips, but permits them to engage each other when the plunger is pushed down. The contact strips are substantially identical. Each has at least two parallel slits extending downwardly from its upper end to form a plurality of narrow contact fingers beside a wider contact finger that is wide enough to be engaged by the narrow contact fingers of the opposing contact strip.

摘要： A switching device comprising a spring pileup assembly including a plurality of pairs of cantilevered stationary and movable contact springs secured between a pair of support members. A follower card is slidably mounted on the top portions of the support member allowing the follower to move in a plane 90 degrees to the contact springs. The tips of the movable contact springs protrude through openings in the follower card. A cam card including cam portions is slidably mounted to one of the support members perpendicular to the follower. As the cam card is moved the cams engage an edge of the follower causing it to be displaced in its plane of motion sufficiently to open a selected number of contact springs while allowing another selected number of contact springs to close.

摘要： An electrical switch comprising a body supporting a first electrical contact. A second electrical contact is spaced from the first contact and a switching element is interposed between the first and second contacts. The switching element is formed from flexible, electrically insulating material and contains discrete particles of electrically conducting material which are brought into contact to define conductive paths through the element when the element is compressed beyond a predetermined amount. Slidably mounted in the body is an operating member, and the operating member and the second contact include a cam arrangement whereby movement of the operating member in one direction causes movement of the second contact towards the first contact to compress the element. The element is compressed by this movement from a rest state wherein the element electrically insulates the first and second contacts from one another, beyond the predetermined amount so that the element electrically interconnects the first and second contacts.

摘要： The cam actuated multiple contact switching device of the present invention includes a housing having a plurality of pairs of upstanding flexible blades mounted thereon and carrying electrical contacts from their respective free ends and arranged to urge such contacts into contact with one another. The flexible blades are arranged in a row and have a cam shaft interposed between the blades of the respective pairs, such cam shaft including symmetrical cams disposed adjacent each pair of blades and being shiftable longitudinally to cause such cams to engage the respective blades to urge the respective pairs of contacts apart. Drive means is provided for shifting the cam shaft, and such cams may be arranged in staggered relationship with respect to the flexible blades so the contacts will be sequentially closed and opened as the shaft is shifted longitudinally in opposite directions.
