Abstract: A laundry treating apparatus may comprise a cabinet that defines an exterior design; a drum rotatably mounted in the cabinet and configured to accommodate laundry; a drive unit or motor configured to rotate the drum; a hot air supply unit or hot air blower configured to supply high-temperature air to the drum and in communication with the drum; a collection portion or liquid chamber provided to collect water condensed from the drum and in communication with the hot air supply unit; and a drainage pump configured to discharge the water collected in the collection portion outside the cabinet such that the laundry treating apparatus may sense whether the condensate collected in the collection portion is frozen and thaw the frozen condensate. A control method of the laundry treating apparatus may be provided to thaw and operate the laundry treating apparatus.

Abstract: In a dryer, humidity of supply air in a supply path of a heat pump dryer unit is directly detected by a first humidity detection sensor, and humidity of exhaust air in a discharge path is directly detected by a second humidity detection sensor. The first and second humidity detection sensors are collectively installed at one place, and a first conduit or a second conduit that guides the supply air or the exhaust air to a position of the corresponding sensor is provided. The sensors may be collectively disposed at one place in the supply path or the discharge path. This facilitates mounting of the sensor and saves a mounting space. Because environment temperatures of the two humidity sensors can be regarded as equal to each other when using relative humidity sensors, temperature detection for conversion into absolute humidity can be performed at one place.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a laundry treatment machine. The laundry treatment machine according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a casing; a door attached to the casing; a washing tub disposed inside the casing; a heating unit; a blower for supplying to the washing tub; a temperature detector for detecting a temperature of the washing tub; a motor for rotating the washing tub; a driving unit for driving the motor; and a controller to control the blower to operate in a first drying mode, and to control the heating unit to intermittently output a first power during a first period after the operation of the blower while controlling an operating time of the heating unit to increase during the first period. Accordingly, the power consumption can be reduced while reducing the drying period in the drying mode.

Abstract: A method to estimate the time to end ({circumflex over (t)}f,n) of a laundry-drying cycle (DC(n)) performed by a laundry drying machine. The method comprises the following steps: defining a time to end learning function (); during a drying cycle (DC(n)), collecting cycle parameters/signals (K(n), Sraw(n)); determining informative features (I(n)) based on the collected cycle parameters/signals (K(n), Sraw(n)); during the execution of the drying cycle (DC(n)), implementing the time to end learning function () based on the determined informative features (I(n)) to estimate the time to end ({circumflex over (t)}f,n) of the current drying cycle (DC(n)); at the end of the current drying cycle (DC(n)), receiving a cycle feedback indicative of the actual duration (tf,n) of the executed drying cycle (DC(n)); adapting the time to end learning function () based on the cycle feedback indicative of the actual duration (tf,n) in order to determine an adapted time to end learning function (); during the next drying cycle (DC(n+1)), implementing the adapted time to end learning function (); to cause the data processing module to estimate the time to end ({circumflex over (t)}f,n) of the next drying cycle (DC(n+1)).
