A retainer insertion hole (27) is formed in the bottom surface of the housing (20) over the entire width, and a retainer (40) provided with fasteners (44) is insertable into the retainer insertion hole (27). Locking pieces (45) at the opposite ends of the retainer (40) engage in insertion grooves (29) formed in side surfaces of the housing (20). The insertion grooves (29) cut the outer side surfaces of the cavities (21) at the opposite ends, and the locking pieces (45) serve as side walls of the cavities (21) when the retainer (40) is mounted.

    摘要: A terminal fitting (1) has connecting portion (5) with an engaging portion (14) to be engaged with a resin lock (13) of a connector (3). The engaging portion (14) projects with a step from an upper wall (12) to ensure a large engaging area with the resin lock (13). An outer edge (14A) of the engaging portion (14) is closer to the resin lock (13) than an inner edge (14B) thereof. Thus, when the terminal fitting (1) is pulled back in withdrawing direction, a force acts to move the leading end of the resin lock (13) from the outer edge (14A) of the engaging portion (14) toward the inner edge (14B). Therefore, the terminal fitting (1) is difficult to disengage from the resin lock (13), and a large engaging force is secured.

However, since the locks (13) are resiliently deformable to enter the deformation permitting spaces (17) while being held in sliding contact with the first securing portions (48) via the slanted guide surfaces (15, 49), inserting movements of the terminal fittings are not hindered.

    摘要: A connector housing (11) is provided to prevent a retainer (15) from inadvertently moving from a partial locking position to a full locking position. The retainer (15) can be held in a partial locking position where the retainer (15) is located at a shallow insertion position in a hollow portion (14a) and permits the insertion and withdrawal of terminal fittings (T). The retainer (15) also can be in a full locking position (P3) where the retainer (15) is deeper in the hollow portion (14a) to lock the terminal fittings (T) so as not to come out of cavities. There are first and second partial locking positions (P1 and P2) of the retainer (15) at different depths in an inserting direction. A holding force for partially locking the retainer (15) in the housing main body (12) is set larger in the first partial locking position (P1) than in the second partial locking position (P2) before the full locking position (P3).
