    摘要: A release device for releasing another device in an environment includes a housing containing a material matrix. A member is restrained by the material matrix and extends outside the housing. The matrix is a solid in conditions of the environment to hold the member stationary in opposition to predetermined force. The matrix softens at a predetermined softening temperature to permit relative movement between the member and the material matrix. A heating element is disposed to heat the material matrix to the predetermined softening temperature. A method for releasing a device includes attaching the device to a member extending out of the release device. The device remains attached against the predetermined force. The matrix is heated to the softening temperature in response to a communication to permit movement of the member to fully or partially release the device.

The device is remotely inflated through a hose that is preferably placed inside a protective outer shell. The rope attached to the anchor is also preferably placed inside the shell, but is not attached to the hose so that the hose is not required to bear any of the weight of the anchor or to keep the watercraft secured to the anchor. At various locations along the line are provided loops or other attachment devices that can be used to attach the rope to the boat at various lengths as desired. Preferably, when deflated, the float can be temporarily secured in a compact rolled-up or folded configuration near the anchor line, by a securement system that allows the float to come unrolled or unfolded during inflation of the float.

    摘要: A recoverable underwater acoustic beacon having a magnetic latch holds a marker buoy captive while submerged. The acoustic beacon sends out pulses of underwater sound so that it can be located and also has receiving means to detect a momentary continuous wave (CW) release command signal during the periods between pulses. A current flows through a neutralizing coil within the acoustic beacon when the CW release command signal is received. The neutralizing coil establishes a magnetic field through the beacon''s non-magnetic shell to neutralize the magnetic field of an external permanent magnet and, through an associated leverage form of latch, releases the marker buoy to rise to the water surface on the end of a recovery cable.

    摘要: A delayed release device for a buoy engaged with an underwater lobster trap operates with a first magnet securing a buoy, such that the buoy is tethered to a deployed lobster trap submerged in lobster harvesting regions of the ocean. A second magnet secures the first magnet based on a magnetic field, and a displacement actuator is in communication with the second magnet for retracting the magnet in response to a predetermined condition. Based on the condition, such as a time delay, the actuator moves the second magnet distal from the first magnet for releasing the buoy when the distance reduces the magnetic field sufficiently. The actuator may include a drive screw having a threaded engagement with the second magnet, such that the drive screw is responsive to rotation for retracting the second magnet.
