摘要: A luggage latch secures a lid to a box. A hasp is mounted on the lid. A bolt and slide are mounted on the box with the bolt being resiliently mounted on the slide. When the lid is closed on the box, the bolt will resiliently snap into position to hold the lid on the box. The latch mechanism is recessed into the luggage so that its external surface is flush with the surface of the luggage.

摘要: A latch assembly (12) is adapted for use with a container having a base portion (11) and a cover (10) affixable thereto by the latch assembly (12). The base portion (11) has projections (17) extending from its sidewall and the cover (10) has lugs (14) extending therefrom. A latch plate (19) has laterally spaced ribs (25) between which an upper lever bar (28) is pivotally connected to define an upper pivot point. Ribs (45) on the upper lever bar (28) are adapted to snap over the lugs (14) to attach the latch assembly (12) to the cover (10). The lower end of a lower lever bar (30) is also pivotally connected between the ribs (25) to define a lower pivot point. The upper edge of the lower lever bar (30) is hinge connected (33, 34) to the lower edge of the upper lever bar (28) with the centerline of the hinge (33, 34) being laterally offset from a plane defining both the upper and lower pivot points. The bottom of the latch plate (19) is adapted to releasably engage the projections (17) extending from the base portion (11) to latch the cover (10) thereto. As the latch plate (19) is swung to and from the latched and unlatched position, the hinge (33, 34) swings over center with respect to the plane of the upper and lower pivot points.

摘要: A toggle tilt latch for a tiltable window assembly which comprises a base adapted to be mounted to a window sash, a handle pivotally mounted to the base and a plunger operatively associated and movable with the handle. The plunger has a free end which protrudes from the base and engages the window frame when the window sash is in its normal vertical position. The plunger is retracted into the base by rotating the handle away from the base. This will allow the window sash to tilt inwardly relative to the window frame. The handle portion not only gives a ready visual indication of whether the plunger is retracted or not but also can be used as hand holds by a user to facilitate tilting of the window sash relative to the window frame.

摘要: There is disclsed an improved clamping system for releaseably securing two external members (30) and (40) each to the other. The improved clamping system includes a hook member (3) which is fixedly secured to external member (40) and a chassis mechanism (2) which is fixedly secured to external member (30). The chassis mechanism (2) includes a U-shaped supporting frame (21) having a spring (22) passing therethrough. A clamping mechanism (1) is provided which includes a rotative displacement member (12) having an eccentric groove hole (124) formed in a lower disk member (121). A bridge plate member (13) having a central opening (131) encloses and provides a linear restraint for a sliding plate member (14) which includes a slot (141) passing therethrough. An insertion pin (15) passes through the slot (141), the central opening (131) and is insertable within the groove hole (124). Rotation of the rotative displacement member (12) provides for a responsive linear reversible displacement of the sliding plate member (14) for allowing a hooked end (145) to grasp onto the curved end of the hook member (3). In this manner, there is provided an economical, easily manufacturable, one-piece improved clamping system.

摘要: Latch mechanisms for latching two bodies in both tension and shear. A longitudinally extending latching bolt is associated with a latching assembly having an overcenter link mechanism controlled by a lever. The overcenter link mechanism includes a slot cooperating with a pin to provide two effective lengths to the fully extended linkage. A laterally extending notch provides a shoulder intermediate the ends of the slot to receive the pin. A keeper is slidably associated with a keeper assembly to engage a recess in the longitudinally extending bolt to prevent its withdrawal from the keeper assembly. A locking surface in the recess engages the keeper. A slide member may extend over the recess so that the keeper is selectively prevented from engaging the recess for purposes of retracting the bolt.

摘要: A housing (14, 24) is mounted on each of two bodies. Each housing (14, 24) has an inwardly extending strut portion (16, 26) with an inner mating surface (18, 28). The mating surfaces (18, 28) are urged together to react a preload on the latch (12). The preload is provided by the tensioned engagement of a draw hook (62) and a catch pin (106). The draw hook (62) is pivotably mounted on a lever (42) that is pivotably mounted on housing (14). The catch pin (106) is slidably mounted on housing (24). The pivot axes of hook (62) and lever (42) are positioned to provide over-center latching action. A carrier (100) for the catch pin (106) has a shaft (102) that is threadedly engaged by a hollow internally threaded bolt (112). The outer end of the bolt (112) is axially engaged by a screw driver to adjust the longitudinal position of the carrier (100) along the load path to adjust the preload tensioning. Rotation of the carrier (100) is prevented by engagement of the carrier (100) in slots (142) in housing (24). The load path is generally perpendicular to the mounting surfaces of the bodies.

摘要: A toggle fastener comprises first and second parts in which the first is a keeper having a cavity. The second part has a bolt slidable therein having a nose adapted to be received in said cavity, and also having hinged thereto a lever on which is pivoted a hasp. The nose of the bolt is adapted to protrude through an opening in the keeper. A cam surface on the nose of the bolt is inclined to the axis of the bolt, and a cam surface on the keeper adjacent to said opening and is opposed to and is inclined oppositely to the cam surface on the nose of the bolt. Said hasp is engageable with both of said cam surfaces in order to cam the keeper and the bolt in opposite directions to prevent rattling.

摘要: The door on an environmental chamber is provided with a single throw, multi-fingered over-center latching mechanism. The latching fingers extend from a common pivoting assembly, and are operated as a unit by a single handle. A hook on the end of each finger engages a post on the chamber housing. As the handle is operated, the over-center action of the pivoting assembly pulls the door towards the housing causing the gasket to seat. The over-center structure biases the latching mechanism in the latched position.
