Each consecutive second time interval is formed from two or more consecutive first time intervals.

A system and method for generating signals providing a synthesized wavefront phase to at least one receiver is disclosed. The system includes a buffer having a length of registers and a controller that sequences data through the length of registers. The controller determines at least two dynamically assignable registers along the length of registers to output the data. First and second signal generators are configured to receive the data from respective dynamically assignable registers. Using a clocking signal to sequence the data through the length of registers, the first and second signal generators provide the synthesized wavefront phase, based on the data received from the two dynamically assignable registers.

Techniques for controlling access to a communication channel for each of a plurality of nodes in a wireless ad hoc communication network. According to one embodiment, each node uses a predetermined rule, such as a hash function, to compute which of a plurality of time slots during a contention window it is to attempt transmissions. Each node in the network follows the same rule to access the channel and as a result no additional overhead transmissions are required between the nodes. In addition, contention among different nodes is reduced when a node needs to repeat an attempt to make a transmission. When a node has data to transmit on the channel, it determines a time slot in the contention window period during which to attempt the transmission using a computation that is based on a number identifier assigned to the node, the number of time slots in the contention window period and a transmission count value that represents the number of attempts the node has made to make the transmission. According to another embodiment, nodes are assigned to slot groups based on the time slot computation and the groups are assigned to particular slots during successive blocks in a round robin fashion so as to ensure fair access to the communication channel.

A bracket encircles a portion of said sleeve between the end plates and is in non-contiguous relationship with the core. An elastomeric bushing is bonded to a portion of the bracket and the core with the exception of the outer faces of the end plates, which remain exposed. Voids are passed through the rear plate and extend axially between the bracket and the sleeve some length into the sleeve. Due to the geometry of the unit, the non-voided sections of the bushing are loaded in either a combination of tension and shear or compression and shear when the core is connected to a vibrating frame and the bracket is connected to a side wall panel.

A method is provided for assessing whether to terminate a computer-implemented simulation of a physical experiment. Computations associated with the computer-implemented simulation that model the physical experiment are executed and to determine if a desired outcome associated with the physical experiment will occur. The results of the computations are evaluated to determine if the results indicate that the desired outcome has occurred. If the desired outcome has not occurred, periodically the results of the computations are evaluated with respect to at least one negative indication that the desired outcome is not possible and thus not likely going to occur. If the at least one negative indication is present, the computations associated with the computer-implemented simulation is terminated.
